We last played this course in January and the course was in excellent condition. An A rating .

What a difference a couple of months has made . The maintenance budget for fertilizer and weed control must have run out !

Half of the greens were riddled with weeds, large enough and numerous enough to deflect a putt.

Tee boxes were also hit and miss, mostly miss. Granted , we are currently in a drought (officially or unofficially) and it looks like not enough irrigation water is being used on the course . (Probably due to restrictions)

On a positive note, it was a beautiful day to play golf and the 7 of us enjoyed a great lunch at Havana.

My opinionated rating for this course is from a C + to a B - (at best) .

We need rain badly !!!

This can not be true. The USGA just told us how much the TV Executive Courses have improved. Heck, Turtle Mound greens are at PGA standards according to some local golf officials.

No excuse.

Turtle Mound was over seeded with rye grass because they gave up. As soon as the rye grass dies off you will be back complaining about their greens. Turtle Mound will be fully renovated near the end of 2025. You can't renovate all the Executive courses at once. Go play Churchill Greens, Belmont, Chula Vista or Mira Mesa. Pelican and Pimlico will be open soon. Bacall, Bogart, Truman, Heron and Bonita Pass will or have gone under the knife. The funds have been available for years, but our duly elected supervisors were slow on the draw.
