Default Hilltop

Last played Hilltop about 3 months ago and was lucky to find an open tee time for this past Wednesday.

The course is in excellent condition and is greening up nicely thanks to the beautiful weather these past weeks .

Greens were are in great shape but pretty slow …. Almost shaggy.

Tee boxes and fairways were all in great shape. Hard to find any “hard pan” anywhere.

Course gets an A or A + rating for sure ….

Hilltop, Orange Blossom, and Silver Lake all have their greens so high it's like trying to putt on fairways.

Like fixing ball marks and sanding divots , many feel that it’s the ambassador’s responsibility …..

And many don’t know that it’s preferred (according to The Villages Golf Group) to place the rake inside the bunkers… and many don’t know the reason behind that …. It’s to make it more convenient for the mowing crews to do their job ….

However, that “rule” is not universal.

No no, all the golf courses on the Historic side are horrible. Don't play there. Avoid avoid!

(if everyone comes, it'll all be trashed. It's as nice as it is, because it's an inconvenience compared to other courses and gets less traffic)
