Sarasota is a course that definitely deserves a big fat F rating !

I knew it was in bad shape from previous reports but played it anyway due to proximity and time constraints I had yesterday.

As it turns out, we were told that yesterday was the last day of play before the course is closing for what I hope will be a TOTAL renovation . It surely needs it !

Sarasota is/was in bad shape and IMHO gets more after hours pirate golf play than any other course in the Villages. I've driven by there after the course has closed but before sundown and observed residents drive up to one of the first few holes, drop 6-8 balls on a tee and proceeded to treat the course as their private driving range. Yep you guessed it. No repair of divots nor ball marks on the greens. Sarasota is not alone in this behavior.

According to the District Weekly Bulletin, Sarasota is not getting a renovation. It is having " Golf Course Rest & Restoration".
