Default Sweetgum

It’s been a LONG time since our group has played Sweetgum …..

Overall, the course is in very good condition. The greens are in great shape (disease wise) but they have not been mowed and rolled in a while. So, putting was very slow and bumpy. Once they get around to mowing/rolling them , these greens are going to be outstanding….

A few of the tee boxes were not in good shape but most of them were good .

The fairways and areas close to the greens were disappointing in the sense that they were the “hardpan” typical of most executive AND championship courses .

So if you missed the green on your tee shot (who does that , right ? ) then you better have your chipping game off of hard pan dialed in !

Anyway, The Villages “report card” has this course rates an A minus …. Personally, I would rate it a B .

Have not been able to get an answer as to why the 5 executive courses south of 44 were not included.
