Default VOLUSIA...newly opened after 3 months....

the new cart path on the 3rd hole looks great. Huge area to the right of the path and roped off. The tees are way forward(187 front, 240 back). The course is in fine shape, but supposed to be closed next week for aeration.

Fun to play again.

Other than the new cart path, were there any other changes?

Why didn't they aerate while they had the course closed?

What did they say when you called them?

They aerate on a schedule...if you've seen them mowing in the pouring rain then you know that once it's on the schedule they try really hard not to change that because if they do it impacts every other course and maintenance on that schedule.

Had anything else changed? Not that I could spot.

Should NOT have opened until the Par 4 was completed. Sod placement is horrible as the ground was not leveled before sod placement. Still holes in fairway at Par 4.

Just golfed Volusia, one of our fav exec courses. First omg it is hot out there but a slight breeze.

Course-wise. After all that time shut down, most holes are exactly the same. And with all that downtime there are still a lot of bare brown weedy areas. Bad. The 3rd hole par 4. They now have a concrete cart path all the way from where it had ended to the bell. The path is about 15-20 feet away from the left hand fence.

It was cartpath only. And the 3 groups ahead of us were very slow. Novice golfers, which is fine but exasperated by the path only. What was shocking was the state of the new sod they had planted in some of the fairway. Brown and poorly cared for. Just plopped down. When we got to the green a worker started the irrigation in that area- at a very sunny HOT part of the day. The 3rd hole is exactly the same except for the new path. Huge backup on 3 - We had 3 groups behind us waiting while we teed off.

No changes or upgrades on any of the other holes. Greens were all ok with very few small weeds. But in talking with the Starter about the aeration set, he shrugged and had a frustrated look, saying “I know…”.

The 3rd hole keeps me away. Often takes 30 minutes or more to play even with early tee time. Not worth it

It better be hot out there, we live in Florida.

Couldn’t aerate while the course was closed, just brilliant.

Should be perfect by the time Jan, Feb rolls around, that's when our wind-up Calvary returns.
