Default Walnut Grove

We played Walnut Grove yesterday in the 20 MPH gusting to 25-30 MPH winds. These high winds had a definite effect on the game including putting.

This challenging Level 3 played more like a Level 4 ๐Ÿ˜†

The overall condition of the course is still very good but sadly, the pesky weeds noted on my review from a couple of months remains an issue.

Two months ago I spoke with PRO at Lopez about this issue and pointed out that Laurel Oak had the same issue to a much greater degree and how they were able to completely eradicate the problem within about 30 days !

I suggested that the maintenance manager from Lopez should communicate with the maintenance manager @ Southern Oaks to see what was used to get rid of those weeds. I have a feeling that Steve blew me off ! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

Back to the review, aside from some pesky weeds on <some> of the greens, they were VERY fast yesterday. Whoever decided on the pin placements must have been really ticked off about something !

The tee boxes were in good shape and tee to greens was plush and greenโ€ฆ..

Despite the random weeds, the course still deserves an A rating.

Playing there Wednesday. I always felt the pin placement for that day was due to how the pin setter and his better half got along the night before. My guess!

My wife and I started golfing 5 years ago, after moving to The Villages. We golf the Executive golf courses 95% of the time and only occasionally play the Championship courses. We have found The Villages golf courses to be very well maintained compared to those courses outside of The Villages. This is especially good given the high amount of usage The Villages courses get compared to outside courses. It also helps that many people fill their divits and ball marks, which we are careful to do. ENJOY!!!

My wife and I bought our 1st home here in The Villages in 2005.

Since then, weโ€™ve played ALL of the Championship and Executive courses many times over .

Although some may not agree, I agree with you that the condition of โ€œourโ€ courses greatly surpass <most> of the courses outside of the bubble.

I play executive courses pretty much exclusively now and enjoy in reporting the conditions so that others might benefit.

Iโ€™m glad to report that the majority of the courses are all in very good condition.
