Consider myself a beginner golfer. I do play ready golf and know that is very important. Has anyone met yet? Is there a group already playing. Please PM me a time and place where we can all meet.

This sounds like fun. I am taking lessons right now. I have never, ever played before. I will pm my information. It has been interesting to say the least, hit some straight, hit some to the left, and even dig some dirt!!!

As stated before, I would like to be involved in this group. I am not new to golf but would like to play with some non-competitive, like-minded golfers and I have great patience. I will be back at the beginning of November.

If there is a group that is currently playing, please send me a PM if you would be willing to have me to join your group.

I began by taking "New to Golf" at Arnold Palmer Golf Course. Just a few morning hours for one week, to learn the basics. If you're like me, you'll probably promptly forget most of what you learn, but a few things will stick with you. You may meet some novice ladies there who are interested in golfing with you.

There are always lots of used golf clubs for sale at garage sales. And there are nearby driving ranges where you can practice your swing. (haha, I sound like I know what I'm talking about ... I don't).

When you feel like joining a group, PM me. If we have one going, I'll give you the details.

Karen, I'm not sure if there is a group of newbies currently playing. Hopefully someone will PM you if there is.

In early September, I volunteered to organize a "late arrivals" group for rookie women. I suppose it will be mostly seasonal (winter) residents. But I won't be arriving until mid November.

If there are a lot of interested rookies that are winter residents, it would probably make sense to organize several groups by area. I'll post on this thread when I'm there and unpacked and organized (ha). And I'll ask for email addresses for those who want to play fun golf on some of the Level 1 or 2 courses.

I know I posted to this thread a while back and withdrew my post when I seen it was all ladies. I just wanted to add even men starting out in golf will have a hard time finding other newbies. So far I have found experienced men golfers don't really want to play golf with the least experienced but I keep trying. There is a singles golf club and it's basically a match making social club. No married golfers who's spouse don't play golf like me.

Most of us that have played golf for years know how important it is to take lessons BEFORE you ever step foot on the golf course. And PRACTICE at the driving range before you play your first round of golf.

This is where you start. The "good golf school" is a must for a beginner here in TV and it's free.
This is where you learn there is no "shame" in picking up your ball and moving on to the next tee and you learn some other things about golf etiquette.

You can play golf well into your 80's and 90's and it's really fun! You are never too old to have fun. Fore!

I agree Jim.

It is important to know the rules and the etiquette so you won't be friustrated if you are asked to step up the pace. This is all explained to you.

Again, I volunteer to go with any new girls in Bare's group. I think it is important to have a patient and experienced golfer with you when you start. (Notice, I didn't say GOOD, just experienced)

My wife is a relatively new golfer (1 year) and plays on Tuesday each week. She's often looking for a 3rd or 4th (women only). She plays around 8:30 at execs south of 466 (times and courses vary, of course, with availability).

If anyone is interested give her an e-mail at lp01@comcast.net Linda

For sure GG, we'll be calling on you for your expertise and guidance. Thanks for the offer, you are such a sweetie! I'll be talking to you in a few weeks.

Marcia,
I live in Sanibel and I am looking for 3 ladies to golf with me starting on Dec 2 or 9 a Monday. I can make the tee time but will need I'd #'s. I have been playing since last Feb and still consider myself a beginner. I would like to do it on Monday's or Tuesday's weekly. I could use some subs too. My email is pmang11@hotmail.com.
Thanks Patti

I am also interested. We had discussed this awhile back but nothing came of it. I have only played 3 or 4 times and always feel very rushed which makes me miss the ball completely a few times in a row. How embarassing (or maybe I'm just THAT bad!) Count me in. I'm available now but still work, mostly Thurs and Fri only but next week Mon and Tues as well. Pm me and we will set a date and time!! Woohoo!!
