What are his hobbies or special interests?

Me in a double layer of saran wrap?????? That's a thought!!!! Do you think that might be to kinky?????

All kidding aside...his interests are golf, bowling and racing....

Re: Girl Talk

Special, hmmm, thats a tough one! Maybe a spontaneous night away. Newport? Overlooking the harbor? Romantic dinner, moonlight walk on the beach, wedding song on a tape recorder as you come out of the bathroom in new sexy lingerie or saran wrap? Then maybe a scrapbook that you fill with pictures and favorite thoughts and memories? I wrote Ed a poem. It brought tears to his eyes. The name of the poem was "By Pure Chance". I may share it sometime. It seems that sometimes the little things we do mean the most! How about a quick getaway to THE VILLAGES??!! When is the big day? Happy Happy 25th anniversary!!!

Re: Girl Talk

Joanne - how exciting. Congratulations - 25 terrific. We're one year behind you. I hope you enjoy your day. What about getting him a certificate to race a car at Daytona. I have a friend that did that and her husband loved it.

Rokinronda 06-24-2008 01:24 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Well, I know I can have Rocky make an announcement and play a song dedicated to you both. Maybe after the fireworks you can take a quiet walk on the LSL boardwalk and tell him how the fireworks are dull compared to the love you have for him! Give him a coupon book for back scratches, foot rubs, breakfast in bed......tickets to an event he has always wished to go to....Give him a lock of your hair tied in a bow for him to carry whenever you are apart...........ok now I'm getting carried away, I give up.

Casino 06-24-2008 01:25 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Scottke,

Re: Girl Talk

A calendar for the year 2009.

With a picture for every month taken by you or by your husband during that month or season .... sometime over the past 25 years.

A picture of you in your bikini 25 years ago, a picture of the day one of your kids was born, (or of a new puppy if you don't have kids), a picture of him bowling, winning a golf trophy, I'm sure you probably have Christmas pictures, Thanksgiving, Spring, Summer, etc.

I think it is something he would treasure forever.

What a nice idea...I better start looking for pictures....

That's a great idea Bare! I was going to try to think of something, but I love that idea. :#1: Great to relive good memories through pictures.

Re: Girl Talk

I think the calendar idea is a great one, and it's not expensive at all. And when the year is over, it makes a wonderful souvenir. I've been meaning to do it for Fireboy for ages, but I'm too lazy to look for the pictures. Perhaps this will inspire me.

The calendar idea is a great one.

My children did that for me for last Christmas and it is a delight every day when I walk into to my kitchen and see it with meaningful memories.....................

Re: Girl Talk

I wanted to give my husband a keepsake that could be passed on to our children. I bought him a very nice gold watch and had it engraved with a special message just for him.

Re: Girl Talk

I've got my house up for sale. I've probably had 40 showings in the past month. That means I've cleaned my house 40 times. The real estate company just called and booked another showing for tomorrow afternoon. Arrrrg.

And I don't even get the reward of moving to TV full time because of the :edit: immigration laws. :realmad:

Thanks, I just needed to vent.

samhass 08-05-2008 02:07 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Well Bare, that's 40 more showings than I have had. Of course I didn't have to clean since no one was looking at either place. Oh well.
As for the immigration law, that would deeply upset me. Heck, it does upset me. I wish you were here all the time.

Our real estate market here in Canada is still quite lively. I want to get my house sold before the market takes a tumble. I want to get moved before I return to TV for the winter.

I wish I were in TV all the time also. But that will never happen, unless I can get refugee status. That only works if you don't have any money.

Nonie, Chels has offered to hide me under her bed. Maybe this time I'll just "forget" to leave the USA and take my chances.

Lots of people are content to be snowbirds. Wish I were one of them!

Re: Girl Talk

Bare have you ever considered hiring a double to do your Border Crossings for you?

nONIE 08-05-2008 02:32 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Bare, another reasonable solution is, just claim dementia, how believable is that living in an over 55 community. You simply forgot when to leave!! Ill go to bat for ya Bare! ;)

Re: Girl Talk

YEAH! NONIE! What a great idea! We can all testify that Bare has dementia! 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl What do ya think Bare? Can you remembered what we just asked you?

I would definitely use dementia as an excuse to stay in TV, good suggestion Nonie! But Fireboy would drag me back across the border to his beloved cottage. I think I've had dementia for quite a while now! I can barely remember what year it is, nevermind what Chels just asked me. :o But at least I'm still smarter than Miss Alabama.

(On September 17, 1994, Alabama's Heather Whitestone was selected as Miss America 1995.)
Question: If you could live forever, would you and why?
Answer: 'I would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever,'
--Miss Alabama in the 1994 Miss USA contest.

Re: Girl Talk

Oh, Bare , that is the solution to your problem......just stop at the border babble on about when you left when you arrived ,dates ,entries, exits etc, etc.... the authorities will wave you on , just to get rid of you. 1rnfl 1rnfl

Re: Girl Talk

This is an oldie but goodie:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wedding fairy

A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.

Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table. She said, 'For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.'

The wife answered, 'Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband.' The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment: 'Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again. I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.'

The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.
So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof! ... the husband became 92 years old.

The moral of this story: Men who are ungrateful buggers should remember that fairies are female.....

Isn't that the truth! One woman's rose was previously another woman's thistle. Perhaps we should all talk to previous partners before we hook up with someone. Hmmm. That would work, because I've bribed my ex-husbands to speak well of me!

I've noticed that there seems to be a common theme in a lot of TOTV threads. It appears that we all feel very fortunate to have "discovered" The Villages! And amazed at how lucky we are to be so happy now that our "golden years" have arrived. 040
