Thank you, Uptown Girl and Barefoot. I knew the Girl Talk thread would come through with excellent advice. -- and I sure am glad I asked because I do not want the cookies to be soft and my overthinking was going in the wrong direction.
|
What's your address, Laurie2? I'll be right there to help assess the situation.

I hate soft chocolate chip cookies and only like them crisp. What I do is after I have my fill, I store them in a container. When I'm ready to eat more, I simply put them in my toaster oven. I put the heat to 250-300 degrees and put the cookies in when I turn on the oven. When the bell rings that it reached the set temp, I take them out, let them cool and eat them. Viola -- nice and crisp once again! |
I don't know about the bread in the cookie jar keeping the cookies fresh.
That does remind me of another tip regarding bread. If you put a fresh slice of loaf bread in with your brown sugar, the brown sugar will stay soft and not become hard and lumpy. I didn't think this would work, but it did. The slice of bread will become hard as a rock and will need to be changed. But if you keep a slice of bread in the canister, the sugar will stay nice and fresh. Weird, huh? But it works!! |
It doesn't matter what kind of shampoo and conditioner I use, very expensive or very cheap, my hair turns out the same.
I fall for all the promises of volume and damage repair but my hair never improves. So now I use Suave Rosemary + Mint because I love the way my hair smells. |

Slices of apple will also work, but the easiest way is to wet a paper towel or napkin, but not dripping; squeeze the water out. Place it on a small piece of foil on top the the brown sugar, so the paper towel/napkin isn't touching the sugar. Bingo! Your sugar should be soft within about 24 hours or so. |

After washing my hair, I use one of the conditioners that to me, seems pretty much like the old fashioned cream rinse (remember those???). Every so often I will use one of the thicker conditioners and leave it on for a while before rinsing it out. |

I LOVE to hear other peep's recommendations for great cosmetic products. |
For a long time, I have been using Sebastian shampoo and conditioner. I think it is a division of Wella. I don't use a lot of conditioner though because it weighs heavy on my hair and flattens it. I have to be careful with mousse for the same reason. If anything, my hair is naturally way too soft.
Recently though, I found out about a mousse by a company called Agadir. It says Argan Oil on the can, underneath the name. I have no idea what argan oil is. And the word oil, on that can, worked in a counterintuitive way, for me. I would think oil would weigh my hair down. But I am so glad I tried this mousse. In fact, I liked it so much that I ordered the Agadir shampoo and conditioner and hairspray on Amazon. It has arrived and I just used it and I think my hair has a bit more bounce. I have used the shampoo and conditioner only once so far. I learned that a little goes a long way. But I think I am going to like this stuff with argan oil. Even if I do not know what it is. Will see. |

Laurie, do you know where can I buy Agadir shampoo and conditioner, other than Amazon? My friend just returned from a trip and brought me some real, honest to goodness, Argan Oil from the depths of Morocco. It is fabulous for my nails - I haven't tried it yet for facials or on my hair. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oh, never mind, I just googled it and found it at Walgreens. I'll definitely try it. |

Netflix - Grace and Frankie
Has anyone watched Gracie and Frankie on Netflix? It's a hoot.
And of course, Jane Fonda looks awesome. |
We have been watching it on Netflix and love it! The script is bang on and very current. I love Frankie and really feel for Sam Waterson. I think he is doing an amazing job, especially when I think of his being on Law and Order for so long. What a switch! I haven't finished the first season and don't know if it is the only one out. Now we are waiting for So You Think You Can Dance to start for our summer watching. Enjoy the summer on the lake Bare!

And it will make Warren happy. I'm not sure why he cares, but he obviously feels that we are spending way too much time on the Forum! :evil6: |
I just want to say that I remember when this thread was started and, my oh my, it is still going strong. I've learned a lot of tips from you ladies!

Like Juvaderm, muffin tops, sex positions for wrinklies, and waxing bikini lines (haha, like I'd ever wear a bikini again). I'm kidding about the sex positions, we haven't gotten to those yet. Some things are best kept private ... although a few guys have wandered in here over the years  and hustled right back out. |

Well, I am all about fillers, make-up, skin care, botox, how to deal with muffin tops and disappearing eyebrows, what to do about sagging knees and flapping upper arms, but I am not, not, not, going to entertain the idea of hot wax poured over my private areas and then ripped off while I moan and wail in pain. That is my line.

Just saw Jane Fonda batting her "wings" on Grace and Frankie, so I don't feel so bad about mine! That show is really a hoot. Between that and the Yam Lube it holds no topic back, without being too invasive and graphic. Works for me.

I bet Jane and Lily had fun filming it. This is my first Netflix experience. I don't understand how it works, but it's great. I'm not a member, Fireboy is. So I just use his ID and password. It seems when one episode is aired, then all episodes are available to watch. |

For the last six months, I've been working on letting my gray hair grow out gracefully. This involves low lights and high lights and incredible Salon bills. But I've never once thought about sagging knees. OMG, something new to worry about. |

Not everyone is blessed with the condition. I'm one of the lucky ones. Thankfully my butt isn't sagging . . . yet. |

However I did read that Demi Moore had plastic surgery on her knees. Probably a last-ditch attempt to keep her younger husband, poor girl. Now Ashton has a baby with a young woman - life goes on. Even movie starts get dumped - look at Jennifer Aniston. |
About the gracefull way to grow into grey....it is the pits....I know it is what I need to do, but Yowee....it takes a brave soul!
My hairdresser at home was so fabulous!! I truly received compliments daily, often from strangers, even from men while my hubby stood beside me. So I know they were sincere compliments. Here, I gave up finding a good colorist for red hair after 6 months. So frustrating..... So here I am, chopping it off and waiting and watching. Hubby is complimenting me on my hair. But I think he is full of it! And happy to not see the large Salon bills. If I hate it, I will color it again. But red hair and Florida do not mix. Especially is the red actually left some 10 years ago. But I watch "Mystries of Laura" and Debra Messing's fabulous hair color is to die for!! I will miss it..... |

I love that show. It's the only current show we dvr. |

But I developed allergies to hair coloring, even special "non allergenic" ones the Salon ordered for me. It's apparently difficult to grow out "salt and pepper hair" versus hair that has gone completely gray. It seems to require an expensive combination of frequent low lights and highlights. Sigh. |

I just watched five more episodes of Grace and Frankie last night on Netflix. I am a huge Jane Fonda fan - she looks unbelievably young for her age! |
You are taking your life in your hands being a Jane Fonda fan on TOTV! Especially on Memorial Day. But being Canadian, you may not know what she did in Vietnam.
Deborah Messing is starring in a police procedural called Mysteries of Laura. Someone else will have to tell you what network it's on, because we watch it on dvr. She is divorced, has two bratty twin sons, and her ex husband is the head of the detective bureau. It's funny. She's one of my favorites. |

I just googled Mysteries of Laura, it's on NBC. When I get done watching Grace and Frankie, I'll have to binge on Laura. Sounds like a winner. |
I really don't want to go back through 62 pages of posts . . . who are we supposed to go see about our skin, fillers, and botox again?
