Mint, I tried Chico's at SS and loved the store. The sales people were great and did a "what not to wear" session with me. It's not for bargain hunters. Now I have to get a job to pay for my purchases.

Thanks for the suggestion!

BF,
Glad it worked for you.

Nope,,, it's not like the Bealls Outlet store, price wise.
But for an occasional special splurge, it's great!

Re: Girl Talk

Bare and Mint, Most of my clothes come from the stores I gave websites for....most of my clothes are bought at 50-80% off retail. Good clothes, & prices that I bet rival or beat Beall's. Oh how I love the rewards of the hunt!

Me too Susan...
A really 'good deal' is such a thrill for me. Almost like a drug... 040 040 040
And I'm a big ebay shopper.

But for a special event, I want to try things on and don't mind spending a few extra bucks.

I am going to check out your websites tho if they have those great prices.

Right now I'm on a hunt for a summer purse. There's a Sharif one I'm eyeballing on ebay right now and it's about 80% off retail if someone doesn't bid it up. I hope to get it,,, CHEAP!!!

Re: Girl Talk

Mint, one thing to know...the sales are as usual periodic. There is an outlet with outlet prices at all three sites. When the periodic sales come they include the outlets at least Coldwater does and Chico's sort of. 70% off of outlet prices is very sweet.

All of these sites will take returns and you can use UPS or return the online purchases to the local store. Once you find your size you can order anything knowing that if it reads your size it will 95% of the time fit you perfect.

Chico's will mail your purchases home for you for free when you shop while travelling...probably even locally but who can wait that long if local. I just bought some things in SS while we were there. They shipped out on Monday and I will probably have them waiting for me when I get home from work tomorrow. Yeahhh.

Much cheaper than airline overage charges and can you believe they are going to charge for the second suitcase starting next month???? How am I going to travel with one suitcase??? Not even remotely possible.

I don't get it HB What is censored and terms of agreement were violated and how would you know any of this. Boy I must be really naive. This is an adult site isn't it?

When I scrolled down the page what ever you posted did not show up. The only thing that showed on my screen was what I posted.

Scroll down and see if you see the same thing. First I came to Kathie's quote on what you wrote and then scroll down further to see your original posting.

Okay now I see what you are saying HB. The picture was still on my internet when I answered you, now it is censored. I don't understand why though???
Especially why was it censored, when ugly fat man, that swallowed a whole watermelon and makes us all want to throw up...he is not censored, but, good looking, nothing indecent showing...makes you want to whistle guy, gets censored ???? Come-on who's call is that???...ugly fat man's mother??

Re: Girl Talk

If you look on the Freeze Video thread you will see that Photobucket deleted one of the icons I posted. I am confused about this since I posted the identical icon other places and none of those were deleted.

No rhyme or reason to their censorship.

Susan...Beef cake was gorgeous and not inappropriate at all!

Bare & Fireboy, your leaving TV feels as bad for me as my leaving did.
I'm sure most of us who just left will agree.
Several of you provide the anchor from which we float around TV hoping someday the wind will finally let us land. You leaving is like having an uprooted anchor and it makes those of us who are attached to it feel uneasy. Hurry back to TV and join with our other anchors to reel us all in. You belong with us.

BF...I know the feeling. I get the same way each time I have to leave TV. It's hard enough to leave for only 2-4 months...let alone 6 months as you have to do.

And now that we have made so many new friends it has become even harder.

Are you allowed to fly back for a couple of weeks in between or are you stuck for the entire 6 months?

Hey, do me a favor at Crispers tomorrow. Everyone you see again or meet new, be my proxy and tell all hello for me wav and give 'em a hug.http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...rouphug2-1.gif Wish I could be there but will be waiting for picshttp://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...photosmile.gif (somebody better be takin' a bunch).

Barefoot I can not believe you and Fireboy are leaving this Monday. When you told me you were leaving it seemed so far away. I can understand your feelings.

Please everyone give hugs to each other from all of us who can not be there Friday.

I can not wait until we are all back home together (TV) and are giving each other welcoming hugs and saying how wonderful it is to see you and be with you. Then putting on our Crispers name tags, laughing and talking a mile a minute.

The sun will definitely be shining on that day.

I will bring my Hyacinth Bucket DVD's.

Love ya all.

Re: Girl Talk

To my friends - you know who you are. I'm sending this to you because I'm leaving,
and I am so sad. But I will take you with me in my heart.

(This came to me with beautiful pictures, unfortunately they don't reproduce).

Time passes. Life happens.
Distance separates. Children grow up.
Jobs come and go. Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors. Careers end.

BUT - Girlfriends are there, no matter how much time
and how many miles are between you.
A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley
And you have to walk it by yourself,
The women in your life will be on the valley's rim,
Cheering you on,
Praying for you,
Pulling for you,
Intervening on your behalf,
And waiting with open arms at the valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules
And walk beside you, or come in and carry you out.

When we began this adventure called womanhood,
We had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead,
Nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still.

Each of us has more than 20 angels watching over them
at all times.
Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds,
Nine are playing, and
One is reading TOTV at this moment!

Re: Girl Talk

I gave up on girlfriends a little over 15 years ago when the best and closest friend I had died of breast cancer at the early age of 40.

It was devastating for me and I vowed never to get close to anyone again because I never wanted to experience that pain ever again.

I didn't realize how empty my life was until I found so many wonderful lady friends here in TOTV. Now I feel the loss of keeping my distance. I'm ready for girlfriends again...and am thrilled to have found so many of you here.

Only girlfriends put up with me when I overstep my boundaries and become mouthy. Only girlfriends are patient with me when I say things before counting to 10 first. Only girlfriends put up with my sometimes warped sense of humor. Only girlfriends open their arms and welcome me as you did on my recent TV visit. Thank you for being one of my new found girlfriends.

I can't wait to meet up with all of you again and to meet those of you I haven't met yet.

Bare thank you so much for posting it.

I will be one of the Angels that "Sometimes, they will even break the rules
And walk beside you, or come in and carry you out."

Always know that there is an arm around your shoulders for love, strength, peace and protection. That arm around your shoulders extends to all my Sistahs.

Love ya,

Re: Girl Talk

Bright I understand where you are coming from 100% - wish I wasn't able to say that.

"I [also]vowed never to get close to anyone again because I never wanted to experience that pain ever again."

When life sent me an unexpected blow, girl friends who were just friends came to my rescue. It was then that I once again started to create true and long lasting friendships.

Just know that I will be there for you no matter what. That is the beauty of being one of our Sistahs. We accept each other as we are, and are there to be supportive of each other when the need arises.

Glad that you have opened your heart to us and willing to take a chance again.

Welcome from one Sistah to another Sistah.

I have four huge suitcases stuffed with clothes and they are waiting to be unpacked.
I usually buy some new clothes every year and those are the ones I wear. That would account for one suitcase. Why am I compelled to drag clothes that I rarely wear from place to place? Does anyone have a cure for this malady?

Hyacinth Bucket 04-25-2008 04:44 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Hi Bare, I know what you mean.

When we travel, regardless of length of trip or where we are going, I only know I have enough clothing when I can no longer close the suitcase.

I will admit I do not use all the clothing - but I am always prepared. If not, fortunately there are stores where I can buy more things.

When you find the answer please let me know.

That's a very good story, Bare.
I'm cleaning out the basement on a gray rainy day. I'm whining.
Actually, there's some pretty cool stuff in there. I should have a yard sale but I won't.
The kids get first dibs then Waste Management comes second.

Barefoot 05-09-2008 06:25 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Hey Samhass, guess you're still in Pa if it is gray and rainy. I hear it is 90 in TV.
Actually it is a lovely sunny day here in Canada. I had my first house showing this morning, what a whole lot of work. I temporarily shoved a lot of stuff into cabinets, closets and storage boxes. Now I have to go back and deal with the mess. Thanks Heavens for Goodwill and Salvation Army. It allows me to dispose of stuff knowing it will be reused, so I don't have to feel guilty. Somebody will love those Kangaroo slippers, I just know it.

Barefoot,
Every time we travel, John gets so annoyed with me..I take three suitcases full of clothes, shoes and bags..LOL
Do I use them??? NOT!!.
So BF..I do share your malady..

Re: Girl Talk

Donna

I can SO relate to dragging clothes on vacation that you never wear. I do exactly the same thing, and always have. My justification is always: how do I know what kind of a mood I'll be in .. and that governs what I choose to wear. Why don't other people have this problem? I SO admire the one suitcase traveller.

I read somewhere that the trick is to put everything you want to take out on the bed and have a look at it. Then take half the stuff and hang it back in the closet.

I think I'll try that when I go on the September cruise!

Hyacinth Bucket 05-09-2008 07:15 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Barefoot,

"Put everything you want to take out on the bed and have a look at it. Then take half the stuff and hang it back in the closet." The rest of the sentence after clothing on the bed is to take double the amount of money you think you need.

Since we travel a lot I do the stomp shower wash. I take the clothing I need to wash, soap them up and throw them into the shower. I then stomp on them as I shower. Then there is always laundry service.

I can identify with not knowing what to bring. I check the weather for the area and then think what if it is warmer, colder, rainy etc. Whatever the size of the suitcase I am bringing I fill it up.

I have tried those special bags and decided that was a waste of money, rolling up clothing seems to really help. Stopped using the bags where I fold everything very neatly, time consuming and the bags take up room.

Somehow it all works out. My Best Advice is to take the largest purse you can find and fill it with the items you can not fit into the suitcase. My purse has weighed over 30 pounds at times. They never weigh purses.

I have a leather jacket that has pockets on the outside and the inside liner. All I will say is I am to embarrassed to tell you what that weighed.

Have fun making these major decisions in life. Just remember there are stores where ever you go. I have a friend who takes and wears clothing that she is planning to give away. She leaves the clothing where ever she is and fills her suitcase with all the items she bought along the way. Staff where she leaves the clothing always appreciate it.

Re: Girl Talk

I so over pack when traveling, and I will continue to do so. :) :) Why? I'll tell you....

On a trip to the UK , on the advise of a friend , everthing I took was navy and white, all interchangeable. Many outfits with just a few pieces. UGH.... I was so sick of navy and white after 10 days that it was a long time before I wore either color.

So now I overpack and like Barefoot dress to my mood. I am much happier that way.

Barefoot 05-10-2008 12:30 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Well, you know, maybe it's just a girly thing, and girls like to have choices. So I'll just ignore Fireboy's manly comments and continue to pack all my favourite stuff.

What a great idea to wear stuff you don't like and abandon it along the way, giving it to staff, and replacing it with new stuff. But who wants to go on a vacation and wear all the stuff you don't like? Not me.

Barefoot 05-21-2008 02:33 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Three women, one engaged, one married, and one a mistress, are chatting about their relationships and decide to amaze their men that night. All three will wear a leather bodice S&M style, stilettos and a mask over their eyes.

After a few days they meet again.....

The engaged girlfriend said:
'The other night, when my boyfriend came back home, he found me in the leather bodice, 4' stilettos and mask. He said, 'You are the woman of my life, I love you! Then we made love all night long.'

The mistress stated:
'Oh Yes! The other night we met in the office. I was wearing the leather bodice, mega stilettos, mask over my eyes and a raincoat. When I opened the raincoat, he didn't say a word. We just had wild sex all night.'

The married one then said:
'The other night I sent the kids to stay at my mothers for the night. I got myself ready, leather bodice, super stilettos and mask over my eyes. My husband came in from work, grabbed the TV controller and a beer, and said, 'Hey Batman, what's for dinner ?'
