Golfnut and Mrs. Golfnut: your home was a big hit. I promise we cleaned it all up. Everyone admired the coziness and warmth of your decorations and furniture. Thank you for allowing me to use it these past 3 weeks.

Bogie, the wine spill wasn't too bad, it is just a lovely rose color now. The cigarette burns on the carpet and one leg of the coffee table might be a problem. Sorry, Golfnut, I just had one beer too many. You know how we drunken redheads get -- wild and careless!

I am so sorry the party was not up to your standards. Perhaps you should hold all such soirees from this day forward.

Now, would a lady of your breeding deign to chastise her hostess in such a fashion? Methinks not. Perhaps the better solution would be for Ms. Bucket to remain in her telly and have Hyacinth (or her alter ego who is truly a delight and charming to boot) attend in her stead.
