Default Shelter dog of the week: Mango

Looking for the life of the party? Consider meeting Mango, a 3-year-old mixed-breed pup, who is a certified friend to all creatures. She loves bringing joy wherever she goes, and is always excited to meet any animal in hopes of making a new friend (or wrestling partner). Mango is known as a ball of energy,

Hhmm, a 3-year old "mixed breed pup"...otherwise known as a Pit bull. Caveat emptor.

All of the “mixed breed pups” they show are pit bulls, and three years old is not a pup. Pit bulls are a glut on the market. Normal people don’t want them. Just put them to sleep.

Nice, you may not want them but millions of people love their pit bulls..... I adopted my Pit/German Shepherd mix and he's one of the smartest and sweetest dogs I've ever owned... and I've had 5 Border Collies.

The solution to the Pit Bull problem is backyard breeders not breeding so many. They apparently appeal to people who don't understand that dogs are a lifelong commitment as a family member, not something to make themselves look macho.

Hmmmm, sorry, but people do want them. We have a pit bull mix and he is the sweetest dog ever! We are very normal! Also, he is the best dog I have ever had as far as house training and literally asking permission before he jumps up on the couch with me. Obviously, you don't know what you're talking about and have no heart!! I would take them all if I could.

Cool Some People Have No Clue!

I wish the moderators could delete ignorant comments.
I'm speaking about those who make comments and know nothing about what they say. Their "opinion" is based on nothing or hearsay that has seemingly been pulled out of the air or from a very seldom newspaper article.

Staffordshire Terriers, also known as Pit Bulls, are highly intelligent dogs that make wonderful pets.
Those who despise them and speak ill of them should go to a dog show and talk with their handlers and owners, who are also breeders.

Sadly, as in one of the above comments, it is the backyard breeders who know nothing about the genetic history of the dog, don't care, and breed only for the money. They generally treat these dogs like dirt.

So -- to those who spread negativity about the breed or mix (as above), get educated. You are seriously misinformed!

I am not defending anyone, but Petey from the Little Rascals was a bull. food for thought.

I had met a lot of gentle pit bull mixes at Doggie Doo Run Run. Some of them were problematic but so were individual dogs of many breeds.
