Default Shelter dog of the week: Barkley

Barkley’s an old soul looking for the perfect home. At the shelter, staff know Barkley for his fabulous energy and his desire to receive and give a healthy dose of loving. While he doesn’t display the highest level of playfulness, he still enjoys strolling around the yard before running back for some scratches. All adoption

Please change the name of this poor chap to give him a chance for adoption.

With a name like Barkley...I'd be cautious. If the old boy lives up to his name it could be a real problem here in TV.

Agree, Barkley is as good a name as any.
Partially agree, all dogs are good, but not all dogs make universally good pets.
Partially agree that some owners need help. Some owners simply should not be owners.

Great name for a wookie. Works just as well for a dog. Or an over cooked steak. Or a vampire with no teeth. Or the missing Marx brother. Sorry, that last one was Gummo, I think.

Was named as a puppy, and it has nothing to do with his personality.

Please don't let someone's random choice of a dog's name prevent you from adopting him.

If nothing else, change his name. Provide a treat (hugs, pets, rubs, cookie) when you use the new name until he is used to it. Then gradually reduce the use of the treat to whatever level works best for you.
