Just one more example of just how smart and eager to please dogs are.

I have been asked to raise Golden puppies to be future service dogs, I declined simply because I fall in love with every dog I meet and know I wouldn't be able to give the dog back. Goldens are truly the perfect dog. They are beautiful, gentle, loving, smart but not too smart, kind, loveable..... perfect.

These dogs are remarkable. I had a loved one at Shands hospital in Gainsville for 3 1/2 long months. Therapy dogs came to visit my loved one every so often, at my request. They lifted the spirits of my loved one, and me too. I'm grateful for the dogs and the people who spend their time volunteering to help others.

What a sweet story! Golden Retrievers are incredible dogs, and those that own them and give their time and love to Pet Therapy are doing a wonderful thing.

For those of you interested in doing Pet Therapy but don’t have a Golden Retriever can still do Pet Therapy… whether you have a different breed, a hybrid breed, a mixed breed, or even a mutt! The Dynamic Dog Club of The Villages has a huge Pet Therapy and R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) Program. They offer workshops to help you get your loving companion certified for Pet Therapy and R.E.A.D., and have relationships with many facilities and clubs to offer opportunities for you to make visits where and when they work for you.

Contact Carmen Tedrick at (575) 644-6265 for more information. If the links below don’t work, just look up [I]Dynamic Dog Club of The Villages.
