The Villages Golf Cars sells a stick (looks like wax) for zippers.

While not for golf cart zippers per se, I use lip balm to the lube the zippers and snaps on our boat's biminis and mooring covers. Can also use it on soft-sided coolers if you have the tightly zipping ones like Arctic, Yeti, Orca, etc. Been doing it for years, works great!

Go to Dollar General, buy the cheapest lip balm (unflavored preferably) you can find. If not, then original Chapstick in the black tube is fine. Pretend the zipper teeth are like lips and just drag the lip balm along them. Then run the zippers along the teeth back and forth a couple times to work it in. If using the balm on snaps, just push the tube balm into the snap and then the snap enclosure and twist.

Piece of cake, and cheap.

Default Benefit?

What exactly is the benefit of balming the zippers and snaps? Does it provide some sort of weather protection? This inquiring mind wants to know....

None. I’ve not applied anything since 2013, and I’ve yet to have any issues.

That works great and is an excellent option for long term care. Silicone spray isn’t as good, but is in many people’s home inventory and also works in a pinch.

Cool! Had forgotten about having success using bar soap on "sticking" wetsuit zippers.
