Default One putt, two putt......

I haven't played on a course with these larger holes yet but my guess is that none of us is going on tour anytime soon with the PGA or LPGA. Some people play strictly as the rules dictate and some play for fun and not so much as the rules state. If these cups are placed on certain courses for the long haul, then so be it. If you don't want to play with the larger holes then there are so many other courses to choose from. I think the larger holes will make it easier for beginners and may speed up the pace a bit because they just might curtail people having to putt so many times on the green. If you usually 3 putt then maybe the larger holes will allow you to 2 putt. That would speed up the pace. It's all good in the game of golf.

I suppose a few courses would be okay, I would just avoid them.

By increasing the size of the holes the hole in ones are not longer recognized by the USGA, The courses are not recognized for record purposes and the handicaps are no longer in compliance with the USGA. All of this because the hole sizes are no longer in compliance with the USGA rule that holes must be 4 1/4 in size. Taken to it's extreme they will become a pitch and put or miniture golf courses. Personally, I think it is an insult to the residents of The Villages since it is a way of saying your too old to play within the USGA. Am I the only one that sees the impact of the changes, (e.g. Qualifying within USGA) and the insult it truly is to the residents who play.?
that you might just be over thinking this. It's no big deal and the exec. courses have absolutely zero to do with the USGA. It's also only a few courses on select days.
