Default Bonifay CC & Sarasota Facility

Took our every other week ride south of 466A this morning and as usual the pace of construction is something to see. Thought I would pass along some tidbits about Bonifay and Sarasota.

Bonifay Pro Shop opens tomorrow, Nov 7th. Not sure why since the golf course does not open until later this month.

Bonifay CC restaurant has a sign on the door stating they open for business on Nov 28th.

Sarasota Driving Range/Teaching Facility is open. The old practice facility is closed. The shop for purchase of clubs and club fitting is impressive. As I had heard it is much larger than the Palmer facility and has a fair sized selection of clubs along with some clothing.

Default Bonifay is quite a stand out.

We drove by yesterday too and the clubhouse looks great and very colorful!

Wonder what the theme is inside. Havana was...well...Cuban...

Sorry. Have to go comb my blonde hair.

The old practice facility, is that the driving range along 466A where you hit into the lake? If that is the case, is there a newer driving range?

They just moved it to the other side of the lake.

Cool

The new practice range and Villages Golf Academy is open at Sarasota. We were there yesterday and the new facility is amazing....

The Pro Shop is also open at Bonifay CC. The restaurant is not yet open, but we were served drinks at the patio bar. If you haven't seen it yet, the bar on the patio is a rather nice feature; overlooking the course.

You do have to hit off mats until further notice. I just went there for first time. The mats are soft and lush and the lie perfect, great to work on tempo. A couple of times there and I will head to a range to hits balls out of tougher lies..... My swing needs the mats at the moment.

Something new.... for me anyway. They have done away with the range key I used last winter to get range balls. It is being replaced with a swipe card. I loved the range key as it stayed on my cart key ring. Now I have something new to lose....

BTW, this new range orientation is great for the sun. Old range used to have sun in eyes at times.
