Cane just aerated, Bonifay was scheduled for today. Check the schedule first. Me thinks they are cutting the grass way too short on all the courses...like hitting off of concrete.

Played Mallory a week ago---Caroline was below average IMHO. On a positive note, we had a very dry 4 months and the rain of the last few days should really help. Definitely check the aeration schedule and select accordingly.

I played Glenview yesterday and it was pretty nice although a couple of greens were somewhat sandy. You'll find courses north of CR466 are usually in better shape and more plush because they don't have the water restrictions like Sumter County. If you go to the Golf in The Villages Forum you usually can find discussions on course conditions.

You can find the aerification schedule and other course info at www.golfthevillages.com, the link probably won't work because of this forums software, just type in the link in your browser.

Any ideas about why the lack of rain did not affect Lopez for the LPGA event or why Palmer is always in far superior shape than other courses.

I suspect the higher green fees for those courses allow more intense mantenance than the others.

Mallory Hills greens are very bad, especially on the Caroline nine. The Virginia nine was slightly better, but still unacceptable. Lots of dead grass and very bumpy putts. The fairways and rough were good on both courses. Played Bonifay ten days ago and thought the course was in decent condition.

Not sure folks have seen this. It tries to explain why Glenview and Mallory greens are less than desirable.

Perhaps they should either close the courses or reduce greens fees by 50% in acknowledgement of public course conditions until the problem is fixed.

Note the deal is at Celebration golf course just SW of Disney.

Extended through the end of May.

Excellent course and condition was best we have played all year.

Lunch was great.

Have the championship courses improved since the last posts ... & the greens treatments?
How is Cane Garden now?
Has the traffic on the courses decreased, post snowbirds?

I am new to TOTV, a reverse snowbird, renting my home in the winter, and coming down in summer, if not rented. Lucky to be able to work remotely, and enjoy TV.
