If I would decide I wanted to play 2-3 holes later in the evening before dusk on an
executive course. Is it possible to simply walk on?

yes. We did that last night. A neighbor is giving some basic lessons to a group in the "hood", (including my wife), and we did just that at Turtle Mound. The starters leave at about 7PM, and it's anybody's game after that.

It depends what hole you are going to walk on. First hole great idea but not in front of someone who is finishing their round and is on hole six or seven----that wouldn't be nice! Enjoy and learn!
