Default Golf Cart Sharing

The new policy appears to be more restrictive than before COVID.

The exceptions (as I have heard):
=> Different reservation
=> Smoker
=> Sick
=> Only two golfers in group.

Some starters are very open and communicative, others jus point to the sign.

What have you heard??

So, if I walk up to the starter shack with a big cigar, I get to ride alone in my cart?

Not exactly..................My understanding, another golfer can object riding with you and your big cigar.

I guess if you really want to take up smoking them that's the way to go or just eat deviled eggs, beans and beer for dinner the night before!

I assume the policy is for both Championship and Executive courses. How about an executive course that is all par 3’s? What about handicap carts can they still park 30’ from the green? Since we maintain as property owners the executive courses and it’s still a “free America” don’t we have a say in this policy. Guess not…

Hoping there is a starter/ambass on this site and can fill us all in on the exceptions.

So, instead of booking a foursome our group can book a threesome and then have the fourth add their name to the open spot with a different reservation number.

The above list needs to include an exception for electric carts. I’ll never get in one of those things again after the guy who insisted on driving golf cart died in the middle of the back 9.

Who determines which of the solo riders in one of the golf carts can’t drive on the fairway. Is is the person smoking, or the person who doesn’t want to ride with the smoker?

Who determines is a golfer is sick, if sick why are they golfing, what constitutes sick?

This could prove interesting.

.
Usually, the two singles jus ham 'n egg who is on the fairway.

I guess if the two singles are not cooperating......it would the the one who refused to share.

Funny how golf has all these rules which are ignored by majority.

Both singles offer to drive and neither accepts, which one is refusing to share?

Someone is smoking and coughing up a lung and the other doesn’t want to ride with them, does that constitute refusing to share?

Agree about the ham and eggs thing, whoever is farthest from the cart path at any given time should get fairway access.

Wondering which is worse for the course, three carts using fairway or one golfer not having access to sand bottle (assuming they would use it)?

And then there is the whole pace of play thing when someone has to keep walking back and forth for a different club and/or sand bottle.

There's probably 50 random examples, have not seen them all, the Ambass probably have.

(1) If one does not offer or If they don't ham 'n egg, play can be refused.

(2) Same as #1..............the children need to decide or the children need to go home.

People seem to have forgotten that this rule of 2 carts per 4 players was the way of life BEFORE Covid. We all grew up playing golf before 2020 with this practice not being a problem, but all of a sudden it is now a problem????? I guess it's true, as you age you tend to have selective memory loss.
