Default Golf Carts on Courses

We will be moving into our new home in The Villages. We are shopping for golf carts, and are not sure if we should buy a 2 or a 4 seater cart.

Do the executive courses allow 4 seater carts on courses?

4 seat golf carts are allowed on all golf courses in The Villages. Since you golf, you'll want to buy one with a golf bag rack attachment, or one that's capable of adding one.

YES

The answer comes down to how often you’ll have visitors. If not a lot, a 2 seater is fine - BUT you will find you want 2 golf carts anyway. Get both.

We have both, a 2 seater and 4 seater. Our 4 Seater WAS a 2 front/2 back, but the back seats are not comfortable for anyone over 20. We ended up trading it for a 4 front - best decision.

We learn as we go … anyone remember when LSD was legal? E-bikes are new and we are just learning how to deal with them. Initially they are treated like bicycles, but they are not, they only look like bicycles.

Wrong thread?

Could you use a two seater for 3 people if it has a bench seat? At least for short visits by family?

That certainly clears up any misconceptions about using a 4 Passenger Golf Cart on the course.

Yes, I have a four seater and take it on the courses regularly. I need four seats just a few times a year but I operate under the assumption “Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it”.

get a 4 seater that the rear seat folds up and becomes a two seater. You then have options.

Default 4 Seat Golf Carts

4 seat golf carts are allowed on the golf courses; however, only 2 passengers are allowed.

Default Four Seat Golf Cart

When you first move in your friends will visit to check out you and The Villages. Not as many visitors after that. Add $1500 rear facing seat to the cart - OR - rent a 4 or 6 seat forward facing cart when visitors are here. 2 seat carts are ideal for playing golf.

Some rear facing seat designs do not offer very good golf bag holders.

We also have the convertible option where the back seat folds up when not in use to allow the placement of clubs. It’s a nice option to have when the grand kids come and visit. It’s expensive and we use it maybe once a year….worth it? Might have been better off renting a cart.

If you do get a 4 seater, forward facing cart, measure your garage. It might take up more room than you imagine. Storage in some of the garages is very limited.

Don't get the "convertible option where the back seat folds up when not"........the passengers really, really have to hang on. Not safe.

Also, usually the suspension is not beefed up for the added weight. There fixed four seaters usually have improved suspension.
