For those of you who did not know, Sandra Chester (LPGA Professional) is no longer with the Villages Golf Academy. I freaked out when she left in December, but am happy to share that she is back - and ready to go.
She is starting her own teaching facility at the Oxford Golf Center. It's located 1/2 mile south of Hwy 466 and/or 1/2 mile north of Rainey Trail on the east side of US 301 in Oxford. It is a GRASS ONLY driving range with REAL practice golf balls and lots of targets! She is offering great pricing for packages for individual and group lessons. Also has an electronic scheduling system for her clients. For now, you can call (352) 446-2255 for lesson information, schedule a lesson and get on her mailing list and new website. When we relocated to TV 3 years ago, I desperately needed a golf teacher/coach to help me with a severe hip issue. Sandra not only helped me modify my swing so I could golf without pain, but was an amazing teacher (fixing some really bad habits). If you've not taken a lesson from her, she is not your run of the mill, ho-hum teacher. She made me feel very much at ease using plain English to help me understand my golf swing in a whole new way. I cannot say enough about her style of teaching and am thrilled that she decided to stay in TV and continue to teach. Everyone I've recommended has come away from her lessons feeling better about their game in general and some new lower scores. I've scheduled my first lesson with her for this Wednesday - See you all at the range. |

You are welcome. She is such a great teacher. For those of us who have been through a few "professionals" in pursuit of the game, she is many notches above - She gets it - and really can read her student and their learning styles.

I have two friends from N.C. who knows her personally, they were thrilled to hear she had opened a new place. My friends also says she is the best ! As a woman I think women should take from a woman pro, we learn a little differently than men, our bodies also work a little differently.

Well, I've had my first lesson of this season with Sandra at her new teaching digs. So much fun to absorb her techniques using "real golf balls" and having actual grass under my feet - and wonderful targets to shoot for. So different than any of the TV driving ranges. She's offering packages that include a free range card.
Also, if you just want to head out to the range to practice, there pricing for balls is fabulous. 110 balls for $7.00 and they also have two other smaller buckets. Check it out - on 301 between Rainey Trail and 466. If you are heading south, it's on the left hand side... I prefer going out Rainey Trail and turning right - just up the road. Congratulations Sandra - Nice move! |

It is so nice to read these wonderful comments about my daughter, Sandra! She has had a dream of operating her own golf school for many years and I am so proud of her! "Golf Your Best" is a perfect name for her school because she truly cares about people and helping them reach their true potential both on and off the golf course. She has helped me learn to swing around my Scoliosis and Arthritis...she is very gifted at adjusting the swing to help compensate for physical limitations and I am playing great golf! Thank you, Sandra!

Just finished up a 4-pack lesson with Sandra and she is a wonderful teacher! My game has improved immensely (much to my hubby's chagrin) and I've gained so much confidence in chipping and putting. You will LOVE her and the results!

Both my husband and I have taken lessons from Sandra and love her! She is such a great teacher and adjusts her teaching to what works for each student and believe me each student is different. I am more mechanical and my husband has the "feel" for the swing. Several of my husband's friends also went to her and loved her. We are also very proud to now call her a friend.
He is taking a chipping lesson this week and I'm going to the pitching clinic next week. Can't wait! |
