Pelican greens
Just played Pelican after they reopened. The greens are in terrible shape and some of the tee boxes were also in need of work. It looks like it did before they closed and spent all that money to refurbish it. What a collasal waste!

These courses all should have mats at the tee boxes. Most are terrible and do require a lot of sand and maintenance. Use the money on the greens.

Such a shame for a great course.

Having a level tee area is just as important as good greens. I would be ok with mats if it guaranteed a level area.

I played Pelican today and thought the teeing areas were OK. I had problems reading the greens but others in my group didn't. No problems with tee shots.
Played the gold tees. Last edited by Flyers999; 01-26-2024 at 02:19 PM. |

At least Pelican is free to play, try playing Palmer and paying $55 or $75 for similar conditions.

Pelican is one of the Execs due to be shut down and refurbished this year. It's about time.

If you think Pelican greens are bad, go to Roosevelt. Bits of low “grass” over mainly hard bumpy dirt. So fast. Like a pool table fast. No friction to slow the ball. And some pin placements were done by vindictive greens crew. grrrr
