You can easily slip on wet grass due to the motion of a golf swing. You want to avoid taking the chance of slipping and getting hurt for the price of inexpensive golf shoes. I recommend the ones without removable cleats and, waterproof kind, that way, your feet stay dry.

While you can play in sneakers or golf shoes, golf shoes are made to play in both rain and shine. My golf shoes are comfortable even in wet weather. They clean up easily and I can change into my dry shoes when I get home.

Collars are required for men. I also thought using one set of clubs for two people was not allowed, but I've been looking for the source & can't seem to find it.

I don't know if it's a rule here in the villages about sharing clubs but it would drastically slow play for the groups behind. I wouldn't want someone using my clubs nor would I use others.

There is a rule. Here is an excerpt from "golfthevillages.com":

"Each golfer on the executive courses is required to be equipped with a set of golf clubs. Sharing of clubs is not permitted due to pace of play concerns."

I agree those who wear cleats and shuffle or scuff along do extreme damage
