Default Nicklaus Event at Polo Field next Monday

Are a lot of people going to Five-Star Foursome - A Lesson With The Legends?
Are people turned off by how much it costs?

The Legends are volunteering their time for this event which is very worthwhile. I am not able to attend because of the cost and really don't want the free chair.

It's not everyday that you have the opportunity to see Jack Nicklaus, David Duvall, Jim Furyk and Michelle McGann on the same program. Yes the tickets were a little high, but we think that it is worth it. They will also be giving golf tips as well as stories from the PGA. Who knows, we may get to have our picture taken with them as well as a autograph or two. We're really excited about going!!!

The web page about the event says "Proceeds to Benefits: “Combat Veterans to Careers” and “K9 for Warriors”.

Is that a good cause or what?

I don't think that the ticket prices are high at all. I don't think that the cast is all that great. Nicklaus, of course, the greatest golfer of all time is worth the price alone. Jim Furyk is another one that would be great to hear from. The rest are kind of washed up one time winners. If I still had interest in golf, I'd go. Of course the most expensive seats sold first. To people with a lot of money, a couple hundred bucks is nothing.

The prices seem reasonable for what you're getting. However, first time I ever heard of volunteers being asked to purchase their shirts -- an East Coast thing?

Maybe. The pro tourneys that I am familiar with require volunteers to buy a whole outfit, including jackets and hats. It can add up. I am referring to the LPGA tournaments in Rochester and Corning and the majors held at Oak Hill in Rochester.

Where do you get tickets? Do you have to do it in person?

I would love to give them to my husband (who is down there) but I am not.

Tickets can be purchased at any of the golf shops, tennis shops, tee time office or the custom club shops at Sarasota Practice Facility. Call Todd Rayburn at 352-753-3396 with any questions. Prices vary.
