Horrible idea. Will start to create a class system. Now it is fair to everyone with no cost. Right now if you don't mind walking, golf executive style is free forever.

Figured this idea might get folks going a bit on this April 1st.

I apologize if any blood pressure points popped.

This is not the first time I've seen people sneer at "free golf for life" as if it's false, and act like they're being ripped off when in fact, it's the best deal around...anywhere. Clearly, it means you pay no greens fees on the executive courses, and it's free if you walk.

If you feel you're being ripped off by or can't afford a paltry $141 per year ($11.75/month) for the trail fee for the carts' wear and tear on the courses, then you're just unhappy and unwilling to look at the good things in life.....like being able at all to go out and play golf instead of just sit inside a house or nursing home.

What would the class action suit be based on....."renegging on advertising" or "thats what we were promised"???? Where is the contractual provision in your deed or other papers that is part of the deed, you can point to that provides you free golf for life...and that it could never be amended !!!

Why are we even discussing this runmor...or better yet mabe its an April Fools joke.

Nice job Deano. I caught on pretty quickly so I thought I'd help you out with my post # 7.

You have to be careful with those April Fools jokes. Some of the "more seasoned" golfers may be prone to apoplexy!

Nicely done, though. Very subtle.

I am up, pull the ladder up. I have no problem with the fee either and it would get me better T times however what about those people who cannot afford it. This class distinctions turn my stomach.

It would be great to have handicap system.

First, the current system works well even in the high season. As others have stated, most people are able to get a time. It may not be the course you want, or the perfect time, but it is a chance to play. Those who are in larger groups, like 16 or more players, may get shut out when some members have high point counts. Second, it really does fly against the "free for life" statement, especially since the rumor limits access for non-priority to mid-afternoon. In the winter, that would result in a crowd of people trying to finish 9 holes before dark.
