Default Daily Sun Golf Challenge

Our team completed the Golf Challenge to play all 504 holes in The Villages by the end of the year. We did it in 40 days. We played golf 29 of those days. We finished out the last 27 holes yesterday.

Default That's Not Golf

Had to be a derby: hit and run/drive, throw out of bunkers, etc.

Old Tom must be spinning.

Congratulations to your group, especially doing it during the high season!!!
Just getting all those tee times is quite an accomplishment.

Is 40 days for the 504 holes a new record? It would be interesting how many miles of golf you played if you added up all the yardages.

BTW, What did you do those other 11 days? Play off campus? If you did. Are you still married?

We had to play all the holes as a foursome. So if one of us could not play like myself who was in Mexico for 5 days or some other day trip we could not play any golf towards the challenge.

Interested to know just how you managed to get Tee Times on all the courses in 40 days. If you played that much golf you would have incurred high play point totals which would virtually preclude not only getting booked but selecting the course you wanted to play. Also seems that the Tee Time system does not allow you to initiate more than one booking a day.

An explanation would be interesting. Did being in the Golf Challenge somehow get you preferential bookings?

We reserved open tee time slots. Lots of 7:11 and after 4 pm tee times.

You can play as much as you want when you select open tee times. We played 27 holes on some days. Sunday the last day we played we did:

7:11 at Oakleigh 1:30 Talley Ho 4:11 Yankee Clipper

Hats off to you guys in completing the Golf Challenge. We purchased a villa here in The Villages 2 yrs ago and taking up golf bubbled up to the top of my "Bucket List". Taking lessons next month and hope to make golf my new number one hobby.

Great job guys!!

OK, now it is more amazing, what a day to finish!!!!! You played at 7:11 last Sunday, the day this wimp (me) canceled a late morning tee time? Wasn't it about 30 degrees?

Your group has accomplished in 40 days what I have yet to in 5 years. I still have not played all the executives in TV.

Remind me, was there a prize for your achievement?

Good job. Surprised Oakleigh was open at 7:11 Sunday morning as the temperature was at or below freezing.

Usually when they open a New Championship Course they have a drawing for the first 18 foursomes. This time when they open Evans Prairie it will be the first 18 foursomes to finish the 504 holes this year.
