Default Village Day at Valspar

Today's bus trip to the Valspar got off to a very slow start. The ads in the Daily Sun indicated for the price of $39 one would get admission to Saturdays event and bus transportation to an from the tournament. Bus leaving TV AT 7:00 am and leaving the tourament at 4:00 pm. When we arrived at the designated location for the bus, we were handed a handout indicating that the returning buses would leave at 2:30 pm not 4:00 as advertised. The coordinator got on our bus and apologized for the confussion on the return time. He asked if we wanted to leave at 4 and most if not all on my bus said yes and he said that is what would happen. He later got back on and said that the busses had to leave the course at 2:30 and again apologized! The buses finally left the lot at 7:45 am, late! The bus I'm on is the lead bus and went north from LSL to Raniy Trail to 301. The driver turned north and made a u-turn in Sherwin Williams parking lot. We finally got on I75 south at 8:00 am. We "should" arrive by 10 am. We will see less that 4 hours of the tourament and will be on the busses for 4 hours!

Good grief! I don't like bus trips anyway, that would make me so frustrated!

Valspar Championship Leaderboard

I lived in Palm Harbor from 1996-2005. I hope your time there goes better than the trips involved.

Default Valspar didn't know what they were doing

We did get off to a slow start. The Villages paid for the buses but Valspar was in charge of the whole event. They changed the time of departure from the tournament not The Villages nor the bus companies. I was in the lead bus also and when the driver got to the end of Rainey Trail he was surprised at the no left turn onto 301. This was recently changed for what reason and it has to be a stupid one. He had no choice as to where he turned around. Try turning a bus on a dime with 56 people on board! He was upset as everyone else. Valspar didn't do their job. Joe was the only person trying to herd 400 people on 8 buses. It was Valspar's fault all the way. We did finally leave at 4 and we had 5 hours there. Any bus trip is long no matter what tour you go on. It was a beautiful day and maybe a bit frustrating but we did get a "Free Bus Ride" so you got your money' worth. I give credit to Joe because he took the brunt of all the disruption so "don't shoot the messenger" he was doing his job to the best of his ability. Next year maybe they'll have it down or maybe they won't even do it again....I enjoyed the day, the golf, the hot dogs and my friends.
