Default New Golfer needs direction!

Hubby and brother in law have a tee time at Turtle Mound course tomorrow afternoon and don't know where to "check in" to get started. I could call someone tomorrow but thought I might get good answers on TOTV.

Thanks!

For executive courses like turtle mound, one checks in at the starters shack. For championship courses, one checks in at the pro shop and again with the starter. You should be there 20 minutes before your tee time. Make sure you have your villages ID card and any guests have their guest passes. We have pretty lax dress standards compared to some other places, but men must wear collared shirts. Jeans are allowed. Payment on the executive courses is in cash only as far as I know. Play ready golf, leave the course better than you found it and Hit 'em straight!!

This is perfect advise, which should be acheiveable (except for the part about hitting 'em straight).

Default look for the green rectangle nearest the course

on the big Villages map (at least it's green on my version). The golf courses are marked also. There is a tiny (less than a 1/4 inch) rectangle. Figure out the route from whence you are coming.

For me, I think I go to Seabreeze and go east under the tunnel and follow the path to Turtle Mound. There's an extra p/l (future exec course men's/ladies' day maybe) and the starter shack is beyond that. It's one of the trickier ones to find, I think.

Default New Golfer

Directions, If you are taking a golf cart, head south on Beuna Vista trail and pass Sea Breeze on your right. At the next road crossing you will come out at the Sand Hill coarse again on your right. Keep following the Beuna Vista trail under Buna Vista through the tunnel. When you come out of the tunnel you will have to stop at a stop sign before you cross one more road to a maintenance facility. Once you cross that street the starter shack for Turtle mound will be on your left. Enjoy.

At Seabreeze DON"T GO EAST UNDER THE TUNNEL. That will take you to O'dell Cir.

Keep going south to the St James Gate ( 1 more circle ) where you cross St. Charles Place. Sandhill G.C. is there. Go past it. Stay on the cart path and go around the corner and thru that tunnel on your left to Turtle Mound G.C.

All the rest is good advise.

Here is a like to the golf courses. Look near the bottom of the page. There is a golf cart tunnel that goes past Sandhill(22) under Buena Vista Blvd that will come out just up the path from Turtle Mound (21). The starter shack will be on your left right after the stop sign.

There is one of the large Villages Water Towers sitting right next to the second tee on Turtle Mound. You can see the water tower for at least a couple of miles, so if you get lost just keep the water tower in sight.

I've been looking through several threads for a golf cart map and can not find one that shows just the cart paths. Playing at Churchill Greens later this week and do not know how to get there from Pennecamp. I'd appreciate directions but better yet a map! Just "do not feed me but teach me how to fish"!

Might not be exactly what you're looking for but it should help you find your way to Churchill Greens:

See #7 on the map.

Call me stupid, but I thought the executive Golf Courses were free for life. Do I have this wrong?

Free if you're a resident and walk the course. Trail fee charged if you ride in your golf cart.
