This post has been over a year in the making. What is the easiest day to find a tee time on any championship course? Do you have a specific course in mind and want to know which day has the most tee times? This post attempts to give you those answers and (spoiler!) it may not be the day you assume.

In general, the easiest days to find a tee time on most championship courses are Sunday, followed by Thursday, and then Tuesday. This is true for Cane Garden, but not for Evans Prairie or Shallow Creek. Look at the attached image to find a specific course you are interested in and see which days of the week are easiest to find a time. The higher the blue bar, the more availability for that day, in general.

Methodology Used: I was in search of a better way to get tee times. I wrote some code to collect and study available tee times for more than a year for both championship and executive courses. What you will see in these graphs are counts of open tee times (e.g., 8:10, 8:19, etc.), where for a given tee time there were anywhere between 1 and 4 spots open.

I am sure there are countless ways to look at different cuts of the data with a little less utility value, such as only looking for open twosomes or foursomes. I could have differentiated between morning, afternoon, or evening waves, too. However, my goal with this post was to answer the question of which days are easiest.

There is some gentle irony within, as this post is about getting tee times and, given the current course closures due to TS Debby, it is currently near impossible to get a tee time (at the time of this writing.)
