my friend is changing fans from one house to another and needs 2 6" white down rods if anyone has them, or knows where she can get them....she already tried dan's fans. much appreciated if you call her at 248-770-3776.

If your friend is in the Villages with 9 ft. ceilings, a 6" downrod is too short and won't circulate the air as well as one that is longer -- 12 " will perform better.

I say this without knowing if she has a special reason for the shorter downrod. However, most new fans come with a really short one.

she is moving changing fans from her high ceiling in new home to her current home which has low ceilings...so she no longer has the original boxes which came with the white fans in the new home. she has designer fans in her current home which she is switching out. lowes did not sell them....am sure she has tried home depot, too. just a little item which is causing a lot of delay!

Ohhhh -- now I understand. Since she has 'designer' fans -- i.e., not your typical Hunter or Harbor Breeze, etc.,
she will have to email or call the company that made her fan.
All downrods are NOT universal and that is her only hope.

Homedepot.com has them in all sizes and finishes.
