As stated in the OP, I held the bond since April of '22. I forfeited 3 months of a very low interest rate. Forfeiting the 3 months is well worth it right now.

The poster I was responding to, was not responding to you. Rather, she was asking about the post that said 'penalty free', which your post did not.

I too redeemed our two 2022 bonds yesterday. For us, the penalty was minor. Losing the last 3 months of interest was a little more than $104 on each bond. We netted $11,208 each.

Moved funds back to our 7-day money market fund at Fidelity which is paying annualized return of 5.27%; rate has been relatively flat for several months, and interest is credited each week for compounding.

Thanks for tip on redeeming the bonds.
