Default Investing in 100 words

Found this on the Fairmark web site. Very concise great advice and in less than 100 words. And this is so true.

Thank you. Concise is nice. Those hundred words pretty much cut to the chase. Too much of what is said, and published, about investing comes off as tedious at best or incoherent and intimidating at worst.

I would add just a dozen more words. . .

Be aware of and manage taxable events.

Give some of it away.

I might add:

Start early (young).

Maximize your IRA, 401(k) and/or 403(b) contributions.

Consider a Roth Ira and avoid the mandatory taxable withdrawals at 70 1/2.

Yes! One year I was able to convert my IRA to a Roth and grabbed the chance. Now at almost age 73 I am very glad I did so.
