Default Age old riddle solved!

After millions of dollars spent and millions of hours of sleep lost, the riddle, Which came first, the chicken or the egg. Has been solved.

Scientists have determined that a cross fowl species fertilization created an egg, which when hatched, had properties of both species but looked very different. So different that they were very afraid to name the new species. They looked at each other and said, I don't know why we are so chicken to come up with a name. So they decided to name it their dilemma, chicken.

I guess thats a relief now for those still wondering.............

A creature that was very like a chicken, but not quite a chicken (proto-chicken). At some point during conception or during the development of the embryo, something(s) altered the DNA and what hatched was what we now call a chicken. Altering genes = evolution. An oversimplification, but essentially, that is it in a nutshell.

Before the chicken, yes. But "eggs" came before dinosaurs. Dinosaur egg is what the Dinosaur hatched from.
The first Dinosaur came out of an egg that was laid (or carried) by a creature that was not quite a Dinosaur. The egg had altered DNA/genes that gave rise to a new creature, different enough from it's parent to be classified as a new kind of creature. The first Dinosaur.

For those who have lost sleep over this, I pity you.
I think you have too much time on your hands.

For me, reading Genesis 1 answered the question.

Why did the chicken cross the road? To show the opossum it could be done.
