My husband has been retired for almost 10 months and he's still getting calls from work. They just forgot to tell him they couldn't do without him. Maybe he should be charging them a consulting fee!

Yes unfortunately. Retirement is on hold.

Me too!

I wanted to retire last January.

"They" wanted me to stay indefinitely. "They" promoted me (to Chief Bottle Washer 2) to help me rethink my decision.

I did not listen to my inner voice, or to my daughter who was the only person who said retire, you've done enough. I stayed on four more months but shouldn't have. The work environment didn't change but I did. Succinctly stated, my head was in the game but once my intended retirement day passed, my heart was no longer in it.

Every day employed is one less day retired. It is also one day closer to the day when none of this matters. I'd rather spend how ever many days that God has left for me doing things for family, others, and self that I want to do as opposed to doing things that I am required, obligated, or directed to do.
