Now this is cool. They had air shoots like those at banks when I was at the Minneapolis Public Library Downtown Branch. Did duty in the basement retrieving books or other items and putting these in the tubes up to another floor where the librarian could give them to the library user.

Not as fun as a train like this would be.

While at the U of MN Law Library if a book was on the 4th floor and a library user would need to see it I would have to take them all the way up there and show it to them. Or go down to the 2nd sub- basement or whatever that floor was called. Same as the U of Denver's Library. I would have to go get the item.
