Talking Dog Food

Posted by a friend...

Today I went to Publix to buy a bag of dog food for an elderly neighbor's dog. (She is too afraid to go out.) At the checkout, a woman in line behind me asked me if I had a dog. I kinda' stared at her, knowing that those who know me, know I have cats. (I mean... why would I be buying dog food, right?) So on impulse, I told her "No, I don't have a dog; I was starting the "dog food diet" again, and I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital the last time, but at least I lost 25 pounds." I told her, "It's the perfect diet, and has all the essential nutrients that you need. All you have to do is carry the kibbles in your pockets, and eat one or two every time you feel hungry." (I have to mention that practically everyone in line was interested in my story at this point. Even the cashier was trying to listen.) Frightened, the woman asked me if I ended up in the hospital because the dog food had poisoned me. I said, "Of course not. I was admitted because I was chasing the mail truck and was hit by a car!" I thought the man behind her was going to have a heart attack because of laughing so hard . Moral of the story: We need to laugh more...especially now, with all that's going on. Stay safe. This too shall pass.
