Had the same thing happen at Burger King, Wendy's and other places, fast food or otherwise just as much as at McDonalds! One of them should have the slogan... "We at ___________ are #1 in shorting your order."

you are right, and the employees want more money per hour,
the range of $10 to $15 per hour.
what will the food cost then and still get terrible service.
