Especially when most registers list “total owed”, amount presented, and change due.

easy to tell that you're not from New England USA. I lived near Boston for 20 years.

Water fountains are called 'bubblers', milkshake=frappes, subs=grinders, and of course...'cah'.

Haven't carried a wallet in years. I carry my cash, credit cards and drivers license in a money clip placed in my front pocket.. I have never lost a thing. A wallet is much more likely to fall out of a back pocket than money clip is to falling out of my front pocket.
