Gen Z is amazing. I asked an intern to bring me 50 blank pieces of copier paper and when she brought them, they were warm. Turns out that, rather than count them, she set the copier to 50 and printed blank sheets. Genius.

That's keeping things simple.

Logic had obviously escaped this Gen Z'er.
A ream of copier paper is--what? Five hundred sheets? All this person had to do was to count off 450 sheets, put them aside and hand the remainder to the person who required them. That intern was obviously NOT the sharpest knife on the tree. |

Also, they think that "copy paper" comes from a copy a machine. Forget it! They asked ChatGPT "what is copy paper?" And then, also to explain "what is a copy machine?" P/S: try to ask them print a document and fax it. No clue what is a printer or fax machine. |

Cruel?
You used that word twice in your post. I do not think you know what it means. Inconceivable! |

And you wonder why California is running out of electricity

With copiers you pay by the copy which costs more than the electricity. So a more expensive way definitely.

What do you expect? We paid to have them educated as critical thinkers. Now whenever they think the situation gets critical.

This is probably going to pi$$ some people off but here goes. Gen Z gets dumped on all the time but if anyone's to blame for their condition, it lies mostly with the baby boomer generation who took over all of our institutions, entertainment, art, and education system, all of which had a massive influence over shaping culture. Gen z also gets to see the excesses and wealth of the boomer generation and how they themselves not only can't afford to buy a house but can barely afford an apartment. Wanna buy a new car? $30-40,000. Wanna buy a starter home? $350,000 in most areas of the country. Wanna go to college? $100,000+. Wanna find a job that pays a livable salary? Good luck, even after going to college.Don't get me wrong, many boomers worked hard for what they have but they also had the luxury of growing up in a time of unprecedented economic prosperity and opportunity. If I blame anyone for the mess we're in today it's baby boomers, specifically the 60s generation.
