Default TV Mascot

Lexi....my avatar picture. Whoops...she's booked. She is the Navy Seabees Mascot!

Well....my vote goes to THE FROG!

Default Frogs

Looks like we voted frogs as our mascot but it's just amongst little bitty Froggies of TOTV. I have to check with Disney World to see where they make their costumes...China, Mexico, Nigeria? We can't have an Official Froggie Day yet so can start with Halloween but unless there is a ready made one, it won't fly this year. I like Skyguy79's Frog. It's a bit sly but Fred Astairish. I would definitely want to wear a frog costume in 2012 Halloween as a starter. Didn't realize that Budweiser had a frog mascot. Maybe Hanson Assoc. can donate a few Kirmies for us. What did the prince turned frog looked like?

To cover all -- the snowflakes, snowbirds and frogs -- how about a frog dressed in a snowsuit?

O.K. How about a pink puffed tail like a rabbit because we are getting cuter as we age. No, we don't want Playboy bunnies running around though some may want that. Have a back like a turtle because we are getting slower in movements. Face like an owl because we are getting wiser as we age. Color will be basically green and stomach white so we are still Froggies. A bit like Yoda but not quite.

How about a frog in a clear rubber bubble. You can roll or bounce it throughout TV....

Bogie Shooter is correct. TV "mascot" is/was the Buffalo (hence the name of the high school). I say "was", and this is for you newer Villagers, because we used to have gorgeous herds of buffalo roaming many of the pasture enclosures in TV. One day, some IDIOT was doing something w/the buffalos they shouldn't have been doing, got injured by one of them and tried to sue the Morse family for damages. The Morse family responded by removing all the buffalo from public areas. I've heard they are now kept on the Morse's private property, out-of-sight of the public. Such a shame one person had to ruin it for the rest of us. sigh.

There was quite a big to-do when we residents found out they were going to remove them. There were petitions being signed on both squares to try to keep them, all to no avail.

If any posters out there have a different version of this bit of Village "history", please re-post what you know. This is how I heard and experienced it. (of course hubby and I signed the petition to keep the buffalo)!

Default Cute Yearling for a mascot

Recently NPR did a short piece on The Yearling and how MGM shot the movie in Central Florida. It is now part of Ocala National Park. Since we are part of the area why not a cute doe like Bambi instead of Kermit.

It has to be a frog. I like the one that is illustrated in the original books of the The Wizard of Oz. (30's era. Pen and Ink if I remember it right) Prize to someone who can find that illustration.
