I took a friend's daughter out to dinner yesterday to celebrate her 7th birthday.
When I asked her to describe a perfect birthday party, she said,

"Everybody would wear a costume of their favorite fruit and I'd be a watermelon. There would be music and the girls would get up and dance and the boys would just sit there, for some reason. I don't know why."

I love, love, love talking to little ones. I try not to smile, because of course they are very serious. I miss teaching sometimes....a lot.
