Default one really big shoe!!

this is not a joke but it may seem silly enough to seem like one hence the just for fun forum!

I have been noticing for years now that as Im driving down the highway, freeway road, etc. I will see one shoe in the road usually along the shoulder. Its never two shoes its always one. I have also seen one shoe while walking along the sidewalk.

Has anyone else experienced this or have I lost it completely. If you have, what is your explanation for it? My curiosity has finally gotten the best of me so i thought I would put it out there in all its trivialness and see what happens.I will anxiously be awaiting your replies.

I haven't really noticed a plethora of single shoes laying around but I have seen flying shoes. Once, a young couple were obviously fighting. She was driving. He had his feet on the dashboard. Next thing I know, I have a shoe on my car seat. I don't know if he took it off and was going to use it or if she somehow grabbed it but I had the shoe. I took off and saw their looks of outrage in my rearview mirror. There was no way I wanted to get in the middle of that fight and I thought I'd earned the shoe since I had to duck as it flew over my head and into the passenger seat.

The other flying shoe was not quite as spectacular but definitely humorous. A group of older teens were riding down the freeway. A couple of the boys had their feet sticking out of the window. All of a sudden, one Nike went hopping down the road as it fell off one of the boys' feet. You never saw three pairs of feet and legs get inside of a car so fast before in your life.

So, that's how some shoes end up losing their mate.

Now John, We're all aware that washing machines do eat socks, but that still doesnt explain the one shoe in the road.

Do you really throw your shoes in the washing machine?
