Been to that hotel/casino many a time as they showed old movies at their movie theater. And the University of Nevada, Reno had an Art Professor (the NV not Los Angeles Howard Rosenberg, there are two of them) who was also the local film critic who gave classes on cinema. I audited two of these film classes--one on Westerns and another on Horror/Sci-Fi.

The American Association of Law Libraries annual convention was in Reno, NV in 1989 where I was introduced to people as the cataloger of all the computer files on WESTLAW. Was neat to return to the city I grew up and have it paid for by my then employer--the University of Minnesota Law Library. Most of the AALL convention in Reno was at this hotel/casino which was then called Bally's.
