You know me though, I would have made the excuse for him that he was about to add a NOTHING but fell asleep before he finished. Still a softy - NOTHING's changed.

Here's a nothing story. A long time ago I was teaching electronics and 2 students, Junie Copeland and Ozgar Ozba were working in the back of the room on their project. I kept a radio back there and sometimes played music. One day one of my students made an FM transmitter that worked with the radio with the volume down low. I was in the front of the room with the mic and I cold see their backs and hear what they were saying. In a low, deep voice I said "Junie" like I was a ghost. His head snapped but he didn't know where it came from. So I did it again. Junie tells Ozgar the radio is talking to him. Ozgar says "You crazy." I do it again. He tells Ozgar again. He shakes his head. So now I say "Ozgar" and Junie tells Ozgar "the radio wants to talk to you."
I couldn't stop laughing and then I imagined myself in a principal meeting with Junie explaining to his folks why I was trying to make a fool out of their son. So I showed them what I did and kept Junie for the next period so he could pull it on 2 students in the next class. |

NOTHING doing. In recovery mode today. All gas, car, household, personnel is accounted for at this time.

I have seen people (both women and men) over the years who take their knitting/crocheting/cross stitch with them to meetings or gatherings and work on it while they are there. Today while I was out and about I came across a bumper sticker that said -
"If I'm not knitting, I might kill somebody" So does anyone want to elaborate on that, or should I consider it NOTHING? |

So the countdown begins. Not sure if I'll be able to stay up for our fearless leader's check in tonight - early morning and long work day for me tomorrow. But knowing me if I do fall asleep early and end up waking up in the middle of the night, I'll probably have to check in to be sure he is NOTHING but okay. It looks like weather conditions may not be in their favor out there and I think the winds are going to pick up in the next few days. Maybe he can tell us more........

On the bright side after 14 days I get 2 days off. The first day off is driving home. The second day off is driving to the next fire. lol |

Glad to see you are back safe. You will be NOTHING but in my thoughts and prayers in the upcoming days...... |
Good morning, everyone. It's Wednesday, August 8th. I don't know about you, but I think the month is NOTHING but flying by. Probably because I still have a lot to catch up on around here from being away.
A long day ahead for both me and the Kommander, although I'm glad I am not walking in his shoes. Drink, drink, drink is the order for the day. Good thing I don't have your cell phone #, K, because the beeping reminders between me and Mrs K would probably drive you crazy.....lol. Hope she is holding up okay. I know it must be difficult for her worrying about you. for both of you. Nucky, hope you had a more restful day yesterday and the countdown until your project is completed goes by quickly for you. It will be good to have you back in full swing here. Fw and tomwed, hope you guys can keep the ship moving forward today. You both did a good job yesterday. Not easy with half of NOTHINGVILLE too busy with other activities. Tomwed, looks like you got your mojo back as far as your wit, good humor, and story telling capabilities. You had some really funny stories both in NOTHINGVILLE and "out on the road" (on other threads) - lol. Btw, what WERE you thinking about regarding those after 11pm movies at the Barnstorm? I had some thoughts, but wasn't sure if we were thinking the same. Have a great day everyone! |
Two years ago today we arrived in The Villages after driving for two days with our two dogs. NOTHING but a distant memory now. Stay safe K you need to make this trip though yours will probably be in a plane.
|
NOTHING morning check in. See you guys tonight.

FW, think about all we went through to get to The Villages! As for us it was NOTHING more than 10,000% worth it. It reminds me of a rough closing on a house. Once you have the loot all the rough things are instantly forgotten. Yesterday in one day we had, White Castle, Pizza, Surf & Turf for dinner, I had to pass on that, Surf & Turf. Had it for breakfast instead. Life is NOTHING but hectic and good. for safety. |
Yikes, Egads, Gadzooks, Where O’ Where have the little NOTHING’S gone?

Does anyone else have a nothing story from the past to share?
This comes to mind. I stood a good part of the day behind a charge out desk with the librarian in a library. I fixed computers and she did the book stuff. Teachers brought their classes to the library and came to the desk sometimes just to vent while the kids were online doing research. In the building we had drop ceilings and maintenance gave me an extra ac vent they had. So when a teacher came up and started the conversation with "I can't believe it, do you know what just happened to me?" I would stop them---put the ac vent on the charge out desk and ask them if they would like to vent. lot's of laughing--- |

We got chased off the mountain today. For some reason this is the highest priority fire in the country right now so we have plenty of resources. We had enough available air tankers to lay down a six mile long line of retardant. Pretty impressive.
For you math wizards. How hot is the inside of a porta potty when it’s 105 out? NOTHING but hot that’s how hot. |

And I agree with you about Coleman and the new areas. NOTHING to worry about. I've lived within a mile of a large county prison for 32 years now, no problem. If someone ever does break out, they aren't going to stick around close to the area. After all, they don't call it "on the run" for NOTHING! |
110 predicted for today. I’m going to NOTHING but melt. See you guys tonight.

I was watching some video last night and viewing some pictures of the area where K is stationed. I really need to be careful about what I do right before going to bed at night. I had a dream that my husband and I were out hiking on a mountain and suddenly right ahead of us was a raging fire. My beautiful, calm dream turned into a run for your life nightmare. :ohdear: Anyway, it's Thursday, August 9th......have a good one everyone! |
