I was the HS golf coach in a smallish town for over 30 years. No one said if it wasn't for my HS coach I would not have won this PGA event. But---every year when we had the league golf tournament where all the coaches officiated other team players from many teams, to a coach each told me that it was a joy officiating my golfers. It's hard to explain why that's the most complimentary thing a coach can hear.

One night there was a big spaghetti fund raiser at the HS after a golf match. I forgot who got the proceeds but it wasn't the golf team.
So I ate with my friends and my team ate with their friends. After dinner one of my players said he was in trouble. [His dad was a great guy and had 6 kids. Everyone in that family golfed. I coached 4 of his kids that went to public school.] So my player [Tim, son 3] said he lost his retainer and his father is going to kill him. [I knew the dad, and the most it would be was a you let me down speech.] Tim told me he removed the retainer and wrapped it in a napkin. A cute junior girl who was on clean-up came around and maybe she put it in the garbage. Tim and I went through 4 barrels of spaghetti dinner clean-up before we found it. He washed it off and put it in his mouth.

Drags, Drats and NOTHING but Double Drat’s! I’m glad you had time to check and that the problem you’re solving isn’t licking at your heels. This is the first time it didn’t send me into NOTHING orbit. I’m in survival mode. I was reminded today that I was treating the grandchildren like they were Teamsters.

Good morning, everyone. Since our fearless warrior is off to battle, I don't even need to announce the day today because I know the rest of you, being retired, really don't care and it certainly doesn't matter to him. His time is not his own right now. Even though I wasn't onboard yesterday morning to announce it, it turned out it didn't matter since K's half day of work was turned upside down anyway. What is that expression? Make plans, but hold them loosely.

Anyway, thanks, Nucky, for your prayers. I am pretty exhausted this week. First, I come back from vacation already tired and working long hours doesn't necessarily mean good sleep for me. In fact, often times just the opposite since I'm all keyed up. I'm really happy that I set a retirement date. Here's hoping I make it in one piece to that day. Talk about making plans......

About you slipping a NOTHING violation right past us - well, aren't you becoming the slick one? Even W wasn't that good. I guess I better keep a closer eye on you so K doesn't have to do double duty. :icon_wink:

Can't believe the weather up north. They had tornados in central MA and floods in VA. NOTHING but beautiful here.

I think I just had an ESP moment with you. Before I logged on I was thinking about asking how the weather is down there. Then I open up to this - weird.

Anyway, obviously I was in my own little bubble today at work because I had heard NOTHING about the tornado in MA. Although I have to say the clouds and weather on my way to work this morning were NOTHING but unusual and threatening and appeared to be heading north. Between last night and this morning we were getting on and off downpours of rain. Now it is absolutely gorgeous outside - sunny skies and tolerable humidity. I almost went for a walk when I got in from work, but here I am doing NOTHING!

We just got back from walking the dog. We went to the farmers market this morning and now I need to plan what I am going to do with my goodies. NOTHING but another great day.

Supposed to be in the low 100’s starting Monday topping out on Thursday at 108. Not really looking forward to that.

I would give NOTHING to be hob knobbing with you all all day but duty calls, all day long. The payoff started tonight and should continue for the rest of our days. This is a mission. This is why The Lord only lets young people have children. Details to follow at some point.

Florida is balmy compared to that and near the fire in bunker gear is exponentially hotter. Stay hydrated and safe The Villages is NOTHING but keeping the light on for you.

That's also why they are born cute. I always said if they were born teenagers the earth would be NOTHING but very sparsely populated.

I don't think I'm going to be able to keep up with the "what day it is segment" early enough to keep up with K's new schedule, but it is Sunday, August 5th - 2 more days and the first week of August will be gone already. Who said time will go slow? Lol

In pondering those temps K will be in this week, I was thinking the same thing - NOTHING but a lot of hydration is in order. And btw K, I'm glad you fell asleep with your NOTHING on because you need all the rest you can get. Weariness and lack of hydration can lead to NOTHING good. Hey, tomwed, you don't know how perfect this is (speaking of "Perfect" - oh, that's another thread about music). I think I'm the only one in the world that doesn't care for Frank Sinatra. My husband on the other hand begs to differ with my opinion on that and I often have to put up with Sinatra music in our house. So not for NOTHING, or maybe all for NOTHING, you have just given me a new perspective on Sinatra and maybe now I can walk around with a smile on my face instead of a frown when I have to listen to my husband's music choices.

Sinatra is from Hoboken. So is my mother's side of the family. My great aunt used to babysit "Old Blue Eyes." People ended up in Hoboken because they landed on Ellis Island, a stones throw away and had nothing but a suitcase. When "we" got a few bucks together we moved to Jersey City. With gentrification the rents have jumped way up. And if you can't afford Jersey City you surely can't afford Hoboken.
