So speaking of all of this, if we were considering a new vehicle for Florida, would you guys suggest buying it here, meaning up north, before our move or just wait until we get there. I'm thinking about the cost of transferring licenses and all that goes with moving from one state to another. What has been your experience? Look forward to your responses unless you know NOTHING - had to get that in there somehow. Didn't I say I was going to the gym? See you all a little later - lol. |
I fly when I go away. More often then not it's less expensive then driving and safer. I only drive 3k a year now not 12k or more when I was working. If I need something moved that's big I can rent a truck at lowes or home depot for $20 if I'm quick. So 95% of the time my car is the right size. $20 is practically nothing. I think a little car is safe if you only go 30 mph 90% of the time.

NOTHING but good advice on here - thank you!
We both would be very happy with a small car with good gas mileage (not to mention more garage space!) when we both live full-time in TV, but I know at least for the years we are able we will be traveling back north every year. The plan is during the summer months we will go back to visit family which extends from Philadelphia to New England and then swing back down through western PA before heading back to Florida. I can't see flying up and renting a car for a month or two. So that's why the NOTHING dilemma about what our next car should be. |

I think it's exciting moving, you can rethink everything to nothing at all. |

It was dirt cheap to register our leased vehicle in Florida. I was NOTHING but shocked. Maybe under $200. It was considerably more if it was a vehicle you owned.
I agree with tomwed about safety in a small car. I don't give it a thought really. As long as we both are comfortable. I want this to be the last car if it's a purchase so I am limited to Toyota, Hyundai, Honda. If its a lease anything will work. I was supposed to see the dealer in N.J. while we were up there and blew it off, I wish I didn't. The problem would have been solved in an hour. All in all Mrs. Abby I would buy at home and pay the freight down here on the registration. Is Reedman's still in business up that way? There is no way the last Fords I leased would give me good service for 10 years. Sorry but it's true. |
Good luck you guys on whatever you decide. Buying a car is not a fun thing to do and is NOTHING but a very big investment. We knew exactly what we wanted and when we saw it at the dealership it was already sold so we said we would wait until they got another one in. A few days later they called us and said that the people's financing had fallen through and if we were still interested the car was ours. We took that as a sign and then when they said they would pay us (which we knew they would have to do) the deal was sealed.

Anyway, here's the new and improved(?) Reedman's - https://www.reedmantoll.com/ Here is a big Toyota dealer near me - Toyota Dealer Glen Mills PA New & Used Cars for Sale near Wilmington PA - Team Toyota of Glen Mills Buy your car from either place and I will NOTHING but drive it down to you. No problem. I'm sure I can beat the freight rate and hopefully it will get there in one piece. :icon_wink: |
Sorry, K, car talk takes NOTHING but a lot of words.
|
SUVs are prone to rollovers from all manufacturers since they have a high center of gravity and short wheel base. Safety ratings are done between two similar vehicles with same weight so a small car with a good safety rating is as compared to another small car. It is all NOTHING but very confusing and difficult and a lot of the reviews are very conflicting.

It hit me like a V8 commercial. Go to Consumer Report. I have lived by it my entire life when I have difficulty with a decision. They charge about $7 for access online for a month. I'll be busy tonight. We went for a ride down to Fenney tonight, I'm impressed with the amount of land that they are preparing. It is progress and like it or not its happening and the really nice thing is The Villages is doing it and not some NOTHING company who could go belly up in the middle of a project that size. Bravo. Happy for those living down there. :clap2: |

We were at the Altar on the Fenney thing several months ago and decided against for the time being. I need to remember the accumulation mode is NOTHING but over. Stay put and relaxificate. :blahblahblah: Especially now that we are totally $$ DONE $$ with N.J. I hope our missing contestants are doing fine. That includes the one who is not active with us right now. |

Up early again this morning. Can't seem to turn off this biological clock inside me.
Today is Monday, September 3rd. One more day after today and the K-man will be on his way home. Wednesday will be NOTHING but a happy day for many, especially for him and Mrs K. Stay safe, brother. The end is in sight. |
NOTHING like 40mph winds to start the day. Except it’s not even 4:00 yet.
