We're determined not to follow in the footsteps of our parents. They worked hard their entire life not taking any time for themselves. When they finally did retire they either didn't have the interest or the health to travel. We figure as long as our retirement is funded to our satisfaction we'll travel now while we don't need any help. NOTHING but grateful we are able to do it.

Sounds like Nothing but a great plan. We drove down to Clermont tonight looking at cars. That's enough traveling for me. We're home and Hap Hap Happy! :pepper2::pepper2:

That's what I love about The Villages - once you finally get there, why leave? It's home, it's vacation, all wrapped up in one package. Even if you take a vacation outside the bubble, I assume it's always more than a pleasure to come back.

Bad storms last night, which makes me wonder - how did your family members in NJ make out, Nucky? I heard they got hit really hard along with NYC. :pray: for all.

Oh boy, Mrs. Abby. Suprise, surprise drama at home. A tree, medium size fell and nicked a humongous above the ground pool and emptied the entire thing. Thankfully it did Nothing to the kid's house but the grandkids are freaking out.

This morning thru crying sniffles I heard Poppa can we come to your house for the summer and use your pool. Broke my heart. She's a little Sweetie Pie. It's always something. I told the kids they can only stay here 6 months. Isn't that the rule??? :icon_twisted:

Yes, sir. I think of it more like keeping them on their toes and making them think and more importantly laugh. Nothing but love for those little buggers. We try to speak to them 3 or 4 times a week.

We are now their GrandParents and not the King and Queen BabySitters. Life is good. :highfive:

Awww.....your grandkids sound like they are so sweet - must take after their Poppa. Sorry to hear about their trauma but so happy they are all safe and sound. My brother from Florida just sent me pictures from my hometown where I just spent time visiting my other brother and sister and oh my, the devastation was unbelievable. Looks like a tornado hit. My brother from Florida was just texting me to be sure I had made it back home safe after he saw those pics. This weather is NOTHING but crazy.

So proud of you that you made the move to TV so that you and your wife could enjoy your later years together without the job of full-time babysitting. I think that's a hard thing for some people to pull themselves away from. I'm sure you miss them, but I bet when you do see them it is pure joy. You are a good man, Nucky Brown.

We go away for a week and a half and the lawn did NOTHING but just kept growing. It was almost a foot tall. Took almost 3 hours to mow it.. When can I move to a tiny TV yard? lol

Home sweet home - you WERE thinking that until you remembered the yard needed tending to.......lol. Sounds like you had NOTHING but an exhausting day. I'm tired just thinking about it. Well actually, I'm tired because I just worked a 10 hour day. :sigh:

No grass cutting going on around here - just rain, rain, and more rain.

I was sent a picture of our last home up north yesterday by a great friend of mine. It was as if they didn't cut the lawn since 8/2016. I felt so good about the family that got this house. I guess looking in the rear-view mirror maybe they are not suited for ownership. I was so desperate to sell that I would have taken a lot less but only had to cut the price a couple of thousand.

When you all get to the promised land you will not believe how everything grows. It is Nothing but Jurassic Park. I only use Scott's lawn stuff and it is thick & lush. Except for a few patches. I'm working on that. I'll hook you up with a great lawn company when you land. Peace Out. Nucky Brown, James cousin!
