What a zippity doo da day.. Ziplining was NOTHING but spectacular. First one was over a vineyard. Second over a valley and the third through the forest canopy. Enjoyed it waaay more than I figured I would.

Tomorrow, on to our last port stop, Bay of Islands.. We're going cave exploring. There's supposedly glow worms in there along with the traditional stalactites and stalagmites.

When we leave port tomorrow night it's two days back to Sydney to fly home on Tuesday. It seems like we just got here a couple of days ago..

I've heard the ziplining was NOTHING but fun but the landing part was a bit tricky?

I find I often have NOTHING to say and say it anyway. Someday maybe I will be old enough to know better but I wouldn't count on it.

Glad you are having a blast and a half there K-Man. ZipLining sounds like a blast to me and I can remember doing it between two trees when I was very young. Not so much anymore.

NOTHING going on over here today other than the youngest son and his wifey have their eye on several different houses on the outskirts of The Villages. Love to have him but we are not going back into the babysitting business. We are GrandParents. Anywho they don't have kids yet but just letting them know what we are thinking. This is our time. We love 'em but we love our new life also. They got the point. I told them The Truth. No Link. Sorry! :blahblahblah:

Abby10 03-22-2019 07:55 AM

See what you all got me into now. I can't even get to NOTHING before I'm already doing something. Really need to stay focused between home and work with a little bit of NOTHING on the side, of course. At first I thought things would clear up in March - yeah, right - every time I turn around there's another fire to put out. Well, at least they are small ones and so far they're manageable. Looks like at this point I'll have to wait until the middle of April for things to calm down. Then I'll be the one needing a vacation instead of living vicariously through K's - lol.

Btw, K, thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. It really does almost feel like we're there with you. I thought I was jealous of the beautiful scenery I was missing out on, but the zip-line adventure now that's something to be envious about. Glad you enjoyed it - how about Mrs K? Enjoy the rest of your time. If you feel like your vacation just started yesterday, you know it was a good one. Nice to hear that. Have a safe journey back to full-time NOTHING.

Good for you, Nucky. NOTHING like being honest and upfront. I'm with you. I've already told my husband I want NOTHING to do with full-time or part-time anything once I'm completely retired. That's our time and believe me when I say we've missed out on a lot of that over the years because of the way we worked. It took awhile to adjust to being together so much, but we can't get enough of it now. We laugh a lot now - it's great! I won't give that up again to do babysitting on a regular basis. I know some women who do the full-time babysitting gig and they say they love it, but in the meantime, their husbands are left out in the cold because it's not how they viewed their retirement would be. Either that or they just continue on living separate lives. So sad in my book - not happening here.

No link - LOL......love it!

Taltarzac725 03-22-2019 08:34 AM

I did an awful lot of babysitting like picking and dropping off kids from the bus stop, gymnastics class trips, swimming lessons journeys and the like when my niece and nephew were in grade school but they are all grown up now and not for NOTHING.

Some of the gymnastics teachers were nice to look at.

My niece had convinced one that I was the Director of the Palm Harbor Library. Same first name but this guy was incredibly ambitious and the last I looked runs the Los Angeles Public Library. The whole enchilada.

Actually I am sometimes right of center and then become left of center and not for NOTHING. I like moderation.

I did go to BYU Law School for a short time but then dropped out to go to the U of Denver but had been checking out the law school there. Then moved to the SF Bay Area. And followed up in the Twin Cities.

I would not call BYU a liberal school. The U of MN very much so.

On a different subject-- I am bummed that Nevada lost last night but doubt if they or Florida can get past the Big Blue tomorrow.

But I'll stand by my statements when I think I'm on the correct track. The good thing about me is I will admit if I'm wrong. Many others won't. See Jimmy Deam Link. It was NOTHING but a piece of cake. They have an automatic breaking system at the end. And even if that fails they have about a 4' "crumple" block at the end of the line to at least cushion the splat.. lol

Sorry Tal I do not follow sports at all so I have no idea about this and it appears that all the other NOTHINGS are MIA.

How is your dog doing? The time change is always problematic for ours and now we will need to walk him later at night once it starts getting hot which is tough because he doesn't like change in his schedule. I think as I get older I don't really either. :ohdear:

Abby10 03-22-2019 05:29 PM

Our mostly beautiful weather-wise day here just took a weird turn. All of a sudden the skies got dark, the wind is blowing like crazy and we found ourselves in the midst of NOTHING but a hailstorm.......not to be confused with a hellstorm which sometimes happens on this forum.....lol

I'm sorry but I will probably be MIA the rest of the evening. I have a dinner I have to go to. I'm sure the food will be good, as well as the company, even though I will know no one there except my husband. So I'd really rather stay in my comfort zone of NOTHING but it's imperative that I meet these people and play the good wife role. Then I get to look forward to getting up at 5am for work tomorrow........:(

Have a great time. I love meeting new people. I can never remember anyone's name but have had NOTHING but some very interesting conversations. As far as getting up at 5am for work I feel I have been there, done that and have the t-shirt.

BK001 03-22-2019 05:59 PM

Hi all,

Well after being picked up from the hospital this afternoon, Sis, DH and I stepped into Giovanni's for some fried calamari and veal parmigiana. I am home now. I can't walk a step without the walker but that's only temporary. The hospital gave us a walker but Sis brought me a "Cadillac" of walkers with storage, seating, wheels and brakes. Love it. There are certain movements that before the surgery caused pain (like hoisting myself into our Highlander). Today after I "hoisted", I felt a little sore. Hard to explain but the pain has been replaced with soreness. I believe I already feel a huge improvement. On the other hand, it may just be my current "drug-addled imagination". LOL. I am scheduled to take Tramadol every 6 hours, Gabapentin 4 times a day, and Oxycodone as needed to alleviate severe acute pain. So needless to say, I am in LaLa land. (That's my defense and I'm sticking to it).

Thank you again Sweet Nothings for your kind thoughts and prayers. Talk to you tomorrow. For me, it's now time to hit the hay.

They NOTHING but found their game. My sister-in-law of 27 years or so graduated from the U of VA. So I hear a lot about her Cavaliers.

The U of MN is still in March Madness but my first alma mater-- the University of Nevada, Reno-- is now out. I have been in Florida though now for almost 23 years and have not even been to Nevada since January of 1994.

Hey Hippitity Dippidity! Watch the Gabapentin, just be aware of it blowing up your legs. It doesn't happen to everybody but me. It was NOTHING but terrible. I'm so glad you're back home. Yipppeeee.

We just swam down to the Fin and blew the kids minds. They loved it. There is a good possibility that they will be buying a house in one of The Villages Family Neighborhoods cause we like to follow most of the rules. Things are looking up all over. Good Night Yous I Hope. :1rotfl:

NOTHING but delighted to hear of your progress and that you are now back in the comfort of your own home. Can't help but pray not only for healing of that hip of yours but also for the relationship between you and your sister. I know a little about that. My sister and I have had what sounds like a similar relationship as yours over the years. It has only been in the last 2 years that our relationship completely changed and now when we get together it is so different. I'm so glad that even though it took this long that we are finally able to live our latter years as best friends. Sometimes not so pleasant circumstances can bring you closer to one another.

Thanks again, BK, for sharing your story with us and thereby giving us the privilege to walk through it with you and pray for you along the way.
