Actually I wish I could do NOTHING, but have too much to catch up on today and some running around to do in the mix. It's a really beautiful, sunny, albeit still quite windy, day up here after that bad storm yesterday. Disappointed to see our cherry tree blossoms all over the ground today. :( They don't last long as it is, it's a shame to see them drop prematurely.

Have a good afternoon, everyone.

You too Abby10. And not for NOTHING. Watched the two Blacklist episodes from last night but have to catch up with various TV show's episodes. Do like Megan Boone's performances in the show. She as you might know is the granddaughter of the founder of the Villages. Or something like that.

By the way, I have exchanged private Facebook messages with at least one NCIS cast member but, unfortunately, it was not Emily Wickersam. And I did find that person rather nosy.

I did do the states' hometowns here in the Villages on NOTHING yesterday.

NCIS rocks. One of my favorite shows and it has been on a long time.

Thank's for asking Barefootski! Hope you made it home OK.

I am NOTHING but happy to hear that the dog you once adopted now has a new family. :doggie:
The little kids will keep the dog occupied so he forgets all about being a terrorist.
We are now back in Canada, and the ice is gone from the lake.
It snowed this morning, but it warmed up this afternoon.
I don't like it hot, so it's NOTHING but a nice change from 90 degrees and high humidity. :throwtomatoes:

Thanks for letting us know, Tal. You know we worry about all of our NOTHINGs if we don't hear from them in awhile. We're especially aware when one of our regulars like you goes MIA.

And speaking of that, good to see you checking in, Barefoot, as we know you were on the move so to speak. Glad you made it safely back to your summer home. I know how much you love TV, but sounds like the best of both worlds to get away from the summer heat. We'll probably be doing the same sort of thing in another year except often times coming back to PA isn't really getting away from the summer heat so much. The humidity can be stifling here.

I know how you feel. We have 26 cherry trees. People NOTHING but stop and take pictures of them. They haven't started to drop yet but when they do it looks like pink snow.

Here's a pic from a few years ago. They are much fuller now.

Yep, the 2 girls next door to us, when they were little, used to come and lay on our grass when the blossoms would fall. I think they thought they were NOTHING but little princesses or something - lol. Would have made for a great picture. Time sure flies though - one is now in college and the other about to graduate high school.

Nice picture, K. Something tells me it doesn't do it justice though versus seeing it in person. I bet they're gorgeous.

Very pretty. Ok -- this may be a stupid question but here goes ... do you get cherries from them or nothing but flowers? (Go easy on me, I'm from Brooklyn LOL)

I'll answer for him if you don't mind because he probably knocked himself out doing all that yard work - lol

The short answer is no - just flowers. The 2 types of trees are related though, kind of like cousins, but one kind produces NOTHING but fruit and the other NOTHING but blossoms or flowers.

Don't feel bad asking, you're in good company here. That would be not unlike the kind of questions I ask my husband and he just gives me that look like "Really?" Just saying, I know how you feel, sister - lol

Cherry - Wikipedia

They look like immigrants from Turkey via the Romans. And not for NOTHING. Julius Caesar might have eaten one and Henry VIII did.

Cherry blossom trees date from a gift from Japan to the US in 1912. The ones sent in 1910 from Japan to the US were burned due to disease and insects. 25 Cherry Blossom Tree Facts - Things You Didn't Know About Cherry Blossoms

Yeah, what she said.. Most of the fruit here is grown on the east side of the state. Too wet and cold here. They pretty much only grow potatoes, corn and leafy veggies on this side. And lots and lots of tulips.. TULIP FESTIVAL

The variety of the trees we have is the Kwanzan Cherry. Prunus 'Kanzan' - Wikipedia

Thanks Abby.

True story - many, many years ago (in between husbands) I decided to build a closet in my bedroom. It was a simple design that basically involved constructing 4 sliding doors across the room - just frames with rice paper -- like this sliding doors japanese style - Yahoo Search Results Image Search Results

I thought I did a great job. However there was nothing less than a gap when the doors were closed. I could not figure out why. For months it bothered me and I would measure, re-measure and check my math. Always worked out perfectly -- yet still a gap! So frustrating.

Finally, in a fit (and aided and abetted by a bottle of Merlot) I decided this was not going to get the better of me and I measured every last portion of this closet -- INCLUDING each piece of wood.

It was then I learned this sorry, testosterone-laden fact. A 1" x 2" piece of wood does not measure 1 inch x 2 inches. Same for a 2 x 4, etc. etc. I was shocked. The next time I was at the lumberyard/hardware store I complained to the clerk. His answer was "Look lady, everyone knows those are the measurements at the mill before the wood is cut down."

Conclusion #1: I should have built the closet at the mill.

Conclusion #2: Make sure you always check measurements even when you buy a 12" ruler - since you never know.

Conclusion #3: If you ask a man "what color was George Washington's white horse?" -- be prepared for an illogical answer.

Are we all pizza addicts on here? Oh my, that place looks good, Nucky. As much as I :blahblahblah::rant-rave: at K about his excessive love - lol - for pizza and ice cream, truth be told I'm right there with him - two of my favorite "foods" for sure ever since childhood. And that's why you will rarely find ice cream in my house - too dangerous for me. As far as pizza goes, hubby and I have been restricting ourselves to the local MOD pizza joint for an occasional treat. In fact, that's where we went last night. That way we can load our pizzas up with NOTHING but veggies and at least feel like we're eating healthier and getting more nutrients. I know, K, that's not real pizza........now don't start lecturing me - lol

LOL - and I might add, next time drink the bottle of Merlot before you even start the project. :1rotfl:

Great story - I'm NOTHING but impressed that you even attempted to do that on your own. And no, I didn't know any of that either but I'll be sure to store that bit of info in my brain in case a time arises that I can use it to impress my hubby. :icon_wink: Of course, when that time finally arises, I will probably have it all bassackwards and insist I know what I'm talking about while my husband just stands there and once again shakes his head. It's NOTHING but amazing rite? Who the hell would ever think a 2"x4" isn't 2"x4". The only reason I knew was my Dad explained it to me.

I love working with wood. Started out buying Inlaid Wood Kits and after a while started getting NOTHING but bored and cut the pieces myself. It was brutal and even back then when my eyesight was perfecto I still worked with a magnifying glass with a light.

Things are not always as they appear. Sleight of hand, Three-card Monte, Theft by Deception, Posters with two I.D.'S. The list goes on.

Maybe I'll try an Inlaid Wood Kit, Car Model, or an Aquarium with Salt Water Fish! Maybe I'll build a Robo Dog and take the batteries out at night! :blahblahblah: :clap2:

I had thought NOTHING but the same thing. When walking with female nurse friend from KY I often had to get a few feet in front of her so she wood not see what I was thinking. She would usually be talking about her daughter and other stuff. She did have a large pit bull mix alongside her too though and sometimes her daughter.

Well. It is NOTHING but I do hope that a certain nurse does not see this thread. She did move on from the Villages as far as I know. Her sister is here in the Villages though. Hope she does not read NOTHING. The nurse from KY did have a sense of humor. Not sure about her sister.

Speaking of NOTHING but bad boys & girls for that matter couldn't you have been walking with a Nurse from MA, CA, NY, FL INSTEAD of KY where they make Jelly. :clap2::clap2: :mademyday:

That is true and not for NOTHING. I have walked a little bit with other women like a pickleball instructor from Sebring, a would be Catholic nun who discovered men instead who grew up in Los Angeles and a blonde nurse from Florida who used to be a combat nurse in Iraq.
